From the ProEdify TEAS prep course, this is part of the lesson on units of measure.
In this video we introduce the delta symbol and how it is commonly used in science to indicate the change in some unit measure. We give an in depth explanation in how to interpret this symbol, and we cover how to calculate the change in time for an event.
Our guided learning app for nursing school is coming in 2021! Please sign up at ProEdify.com to receive updates.

My class just started throwing the delta symbol around with little explanation. Like why is there a t and a ∆t, and why are they the same? This helps a ton, thank you!

Lets say i hv 40g of 60 degrees celsius water and i mix it with 60g of 26 degree celsius water and the final temp was 39 degree Celsius what would be my equation for what the change of temperature for the cold water was?

What is unit I and unit F?
@ProEdify
@ProEdify 7 лет назад
+MDshayan! In that part of the video, we used the word "unit" as a placeholder. This illustrates that you can find the change in any "unit" (not just time). All you have to do is compute the difference between that unit's initial (i) and final (f) measurement. Hope that helps!
