Hi! So I lied! I ended up taking this series in a completely different direction. Just skip to 2:25 for help setting up, or you can skip this tutorial altogether if you're already setup! This series ended up being more a series where I talked about the compiler and what it does, and putting code in the context of working with the compiler. I feel like the series has become what I wanted it to for Phase 1, but at the same time I could go on and on about inheritance, Enumerators, and more and more. However, I feel that it takes away from the code from a game dev. standpoint and it's better to learn while making games (if that is your goal). I also feel like my plan sucked hahaha. I don't know what I was thinking with that 3 Phase Plan. Sorry to anyone that wanted that, but I'm ending it with this small series about a compiler. I'll make other tutorials instead! Thank you!
Total noob here, I appreciate everything you do, became a patron today. I've been working through the Unity 2d series and really look forward to more coding help because I am starting from zero. Thanks dude!
Very excited for this tutorial series!! I've watched all of your Platformer Unity Series and I know this new Scripting Tutorial gonna be another awesome material, we will all learn a lot, for sure. Thanks for everything!
Ah, I love you man. Haha. I learn so many things even though I am average with coding. Helps me solve many problems with simple things you teach and straightforward. Bud, please tell me you got discord :|
Hi Alvin, I got stuck (already!), in the package manager, I don't see the Visual Studio Editor listed, but I do have Visual Studio Code Editor. How do I add the former?
@@AlvinRoe ha! found that out after getting annoyed with google and decided to just push through and see if things worked. Luckily they did :-) Already watching vid #4, thanks!
Hey Alvin, I've only recently been learning both c# and Unity. I've come across your unity scripting tutorials and your unity 2d tutorials. Which tutorial set should I watch first?
Honestly, I think for 90% of people going to the Unity 2D Tutorials would be best. If you find yourself confused over there, than I would try this series.
unity 2020.1.0b.15 find VS Editor in Package Manager ( its instald and latest upadate) but cant find it in Preferences --> External Tools --> external script editor ?? any ides? i have already restarted the program, dident work. help pleas.
Visual Studio Editor isn’t in my packages, does anyone know what I should do to fix this? Sorry if this is a simple fix, this is my first time looking at and opening Unity and Google searched aren’t helping me find a solution
@@AlvinRoe Yeah I've got nothing for Visual Studio Editor in packages, and I've also got nothing in the External Tools. I'll see if I can still go on with the rest of the tutorial without these options. Hopefully they're superfluous.
