This universal installation approach is applicable to nearly all makes and models. The CURT Tail Light Converter 59236 taps into your vehicles existing signal, brake, and taillight wiring and equips your vehicle with a Flat-4 trailer light connection.
I performed this on a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which was NOT equipped with a plug and play tow harness. Many of the Outlanders have a simple installation which does not require tapping into a vehicles existing tail light wiring, but Canadian versions are hit and miss and many require this universal flat-4 wiring installation.
