It's rare to see a park being built from the ground up nowadays, this is so awesome. I'm most excited for Classic Monsters and Ministry of Magic, they look great
It's a crying shame that the Dark Universe didn't pan out to give the modern day big-screen treatment that Universal's legendary Monsters deserve. But one can hope that if the Epic Universe attractions do well enough, it could spark another attempt. Imagine rollercoasters, thrilling dark & flat rides and stage shows all themed to Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, Wolfman and The Invisible Man!
I see what they're doing with the Ministry of Magic ride. It's going to be Universal's version of a Rise of the Resistance type attraction. Giant queue showroom, multi-floored ride system, etc.
I really hope not. I actually want to ride this. I’m tired of paying insane amounts of money to either be told no, or to be told I can wait in line, even though the answer is still no.
I am just amazed on how much work is being done. I just hope they are able to finish up in time for Summer 2025, because that's going to be here before you know it.
I think the Harry Potter ride is gonna be universal’s rebuttal to rise of the resistance. With the immersion and lack of screens already shown, I think they’re going for the best ride holder.
This place is going to be a madhouse when it opens. Hopefully, it will draw more crowds away from Islands and Studios, because the last time I went, both parks were wall to wall people and at least an hour wait for anything - including food!
I think it'll definitely take some of the crowds away from the other parks. Although All 4 Disney parks do be pretty busy despite having more spread, if anything epic might increase even more people to Orlando. But time willl tell
Love that Universal's taking full advantage of the site for the Ministry attraction. If UC were limited to the Fear Factor plot, they'd only be able to squeeze in the atrium and create a Tower-of-Terror style elevator ride. The office walkthroughs are going to be fantastic (although I hope an elevator experience is still included) and we have multiple levels to the actual ride. Will be great to see how they fit the dark ride portion in and improve on Spiderman & Transformers!
I literally gasped with excitement when I saw the update come up! Thank you Alicia for another great update, the plans for the Ministry if Magic look amazing! I'm saying the Grand Helios! 😊
I really hope they come up with some other space themed full service restaurant for the central hub. I’d really like to see Universal’s take on Space 220.
I wish they would create some kind of transportation that circles the park. I don't mean like a train but maybe a monorail of some kind. So many amusement parks lack these simple Transportation devices
Thank you for another amazing update! I am very intrigued to see how the Ministry of Magic attraction turns out-the entry process through the fireplaces and grand reveal of the atrium are sounding like they will be pretty spectacular.
Thank you for all your hard work on covering Epic Universe, I feel like as long as I'm subbed to Theme Park Stop I won't miss any cool update lol. The DK golden bricks on the temple got me way more excited to see than it should have.
Expect soft openings by really late in 2024 or early 2025. Universal is 6 months ahead of schedule already on building Epic Universe. The summer 2025 opening date was projected after Covid stopped construction. They used a worst case scenario for the revised opening date. They are on pace to be completely finished in 18 months.
@@ThemeParkStop Yep, if the road extension is done by Nov/Dec 2024, then you will see soft openings soon thereafter. They will need to get return on investment as soon as possible for both the park and hotels. Universal moves way faster than Disney and won’t let a fully completed park just sit for 6 months. I’ve been to almost every amusement/theme park in America and can’t wait for Epic to open! Keep up the great videos, Alicia!
Thank you as always! I hope the swing launch is real and we have a small show scene with Mr Talbot changing before lashing at us as we speed off again 😅
Im so excited for the ministry of magic ride, however the Paris location will always get me. Oh imagen if they would have done the land as the wizarding world cup! a boy can dream.
Cassini sounded like a great idea and I'm sad to see it "dead", but if little cuts have to be made to avoid big ones, then so be it - EU is gonna be very cool. I hope the cancellations in the Hub eventually lead to a third Attraction being placed in the hub a few years after the park opens, because Celestial Gardens seems like it will be a really inspiring place to hang out. The more that's located there, the better!
Can't wait looks great. May have to do a drive by the construction when I'm down for my next visit to Universal in a couple of weeks🥳 Thank you so much for the updates🙏💯
This is so cool!! Also, I like to think that Windmill restaurant might be based off of the 1996 movie Twister, it makes sense because it IS a universal film and it fits the theming of “Dark Universe” pretty well, but that’s just me speculating. EDIT(5/3/23): Actually, doing more research- it’s actually supposed to be Frankenstein-based, as the movies featured a windmill setting.
I hope they leave a path for expansion of Super Nintendo World, like a shop they can tear down, to expand further. They can build the SNW area as large as they can and it will always be full, so might as well go big!
I’m very interested to see what everyone thinks the best ride at this park is. I’m also very curious to see when they’ll expand. I’m hoping that flying simulator happens in the HTTYD land one day. :(
4:04 I feel like this could be a intamin dynamic motion stage. Not really any reason for it other than the size roughly matching and it needing such a deep cutout. But who knows
i'm still disappointed that they're doing MORE HP when they should do something new and fresh. they already got HP in Islands/Universal and it's HUGE. this could've been Universal's opportunity to do something new and original that's fantasy related. i'm sure it's gonna be cool, but it's just more HP stuff. the excitement wore off a while ago. thank you for the update! everything else looks rly cool and i'm super hyped
Probably because there's some kind of contract to put a HP land in every park until a certain date. HP is still very large as a franchise so it makes sense.
So the new HP land is wizarding Paris, but the British ministry of magic is there? Am I missing something, or does that not make any sense? Haha thanks for another great video, Alicia!
Thanks for the answer :) ! Arches in architectural plans are not usually rapresented like that but maybe this drawing displays some other constructions elements as well
these are always so well done! truly impressed with every video. however, i don't know why i torture myself and watch these. makes me want to go to universal ASAP!
With all the names listed here, I imagine that the HUB will take the theme of outer space and the lands will be like planets. I really like this idea, because it'll be like guests will be travelling through this fantasy-style solar system and exploring all the planets that orbit in it.
Indeed. What confuses me is facades are already now going up more than 2 years ahead of summer 2025 launch, considering most of the lands were mostly dirt a year ago.
I used to work right across the street from where this is being built for 18 years. I suppose it could improve the area, but it’s too bad to me that they’re building it where they are. It’s right next to one of the worst sub-areas of Orlando called Tangelo Park, that’s very known for its high crime and drug issues. On another side it’s very close to some industrial areas that aren’t very nice. I also have no idea how this is going to work, not even bring connected to Universal’s other parks and property. Lastly, it’s night right off of a freeway either, and has a short area of development between it and the interstate that’s a horrible bottleneck. I got stuck in it almost every day for 18 years. I just don’t know how I’m the world this park is going to work. Seems like it’s going to be a massive flop.
There's always a Debbie Downer. -__- The entrance to the park is way on the other side of Tangelo Park. The area adjacent to it is already fenced off with barbed wire at the top. I guess you would have been happier had the park broken ground in, say Windermere? (As if THAT would ever happen! LOL!) Don't worry, I'm fairly certain we'll all be safe from those pesky small time drug cartels. At any rate, the infrastructure is being improved on both sides. Also, I'm trying to remember the last time I saw a nice industrial area. Man, you're too much! LMAO!
