For measurement purposes, I am 5'11" and when I went to Universal in February 2021 I was about 330lbs. (Measurements below) I was able to get on a good bit of the rides. Of the rides at Universal Studios and IOA the only rides I 100% could not ride were: 1. Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure (My thighs were too big to get the bar down -- approximately 33in around while sitting) 2. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (I felt like a sardine in a can because of my shoulders) 3. Doctor Doom's Fearfall (If you have childbearing hips and a medium - large frame....forget it) I went on all of the other rides EXCEPT Flight of the Hippogriff, simply because I didn't want to ride it, and Popeye & Bluto's Barges, because it was closed. These are my current measurements **Keep in mind I did these whilst SITTING because it give a more accurate measurement while trying to get on the rides.** Current weight: 305lbs Bust: 52in Waist (with largest part of belly): 56.75in Hips: 56in Thighs: 33in Hope this helps!
Man I was at Universal in Feb. 2020 and I was like 330 I couldnt do any of the Harry Potter stuff I didnt even try the mummy because I was so deflated about it I just let my wife and kid just go on without me fast forward to right now Sept 2020 actually the 12-16 which is right now I worked my A$$ off and I'm 275-280 right now and I have rode everything 5 times and I mean everything use it as motivation people and Grind you can do this if I can I know u can now get to work!!!!!!!

Hello! Just went and thought I’d share my experience. I am a 5’8 300 pound male. I was able to get on all of the rides at both parks except: Rip Ride Rock It RollerCoaster Harry Potter Forbidden Journey Hagrids Motorbike Ride Dr Dooms Death Drop I was very pleased to find out I could still ride the Gringotts ride and the Velocicoaster. Had a great time but def good motivation to lose weight so I can get on everything next time I go.

Thanks for making these videos. I plan to go to OH next year and hit parks around the state. Your videos have been great. To add some additional context for your viewers about Universal. I went to Universal last October. I was 5'11" and 300lbs when I went. I do lift so, while I carry extra weight in my stomach, I have big shoulders and thighs. I was able to squeeze in (I mean just barely) for everything except Hagrid's and Dr. DOOM. For Hagrid's my thighs were the issue. For Dr. Doom if I sat up my chest blocked the bar and if I slouched my stomach was the issue. One key tip is that some of the rides have "larger" (relative term) rider rows.
You do a really good job. I hate the seats at ET and I'm smaller than you. I didn't think about kiddie rides being a great option until you mentioned it. Thank you.

Hey man FYI, on the ET ride you can ask for BENCH SEATING and on the last row instead of individual seats, the entire row is a bench without those individual bars. WAY More room

glad someone did a plus size person, i am tall and a tad pudgy. so knowing which ones are uncomfortable waist size is helpful. I worry about knee length.
Going in a month and this made me feel so much better as I fell into a rabbit hole of depression thinking the worst. We’re a party of 5 and ill have my family sit together and ride with the strangers 😅
I just wanted to come here and comment on my experience! I when to universal studios this 08/11-0812/2021 and I am 296 female and I was not able to fit in the main roller coasters! It was a bummer for me since I like thrilling rides! Also I struggle in some of the rides to get in and out! Water log, mummy! So if you want to ride please do your best to loose weight! I carry my weight around hips and belly just in case! I’m 5’7! Hope this helps because I trust that was going to be able to fit 😤😩😢

I think it's cruel that these coaster manufacturers make these rides just for svelte regular size people when most of Americans are of larger sizes. I was so embarrassed at Dorney Park last week in PA on the Talon I missed the buckle by 3inches if I had an extension I would have been fine🤦🏾♀️ We are planning a family trip to Bush Gardens next summer so I'm going to lose more of my tummy to save embarrassment Thanks for these videos keep them coming there are many large park goers that need this info before going to help them prepare
Love your video. Last time I went in June 2019 I was able to fit on all the rides just okay. But when riding gringotts it was incredibly uncomfortable.

I'm glad I could help. I do have a video on just the Hagrid ride that you can check out on my page if you want. But, to answer your question.....it's gonna be a close one for you I think. I was 325 when we went....and I could not manage to fit on Hagrid's (yes it was available....at a 3 hour wait! lol). But, I am only 5'10. With you having about 6 inches on me in height....that may stretch the distribution of your weight out a bit and give you a better shot at fitting. There is a test seat off to the side right in front of the ride so you can check before you have to wait in the ridiculously long line for this one. Hope this helps. I'm rooting for you!
@@DorkyDude Thanks, I saw another big guy on a video that was able to fit in the test seat but then not on the ride. They told him the test seat sits in the sun and expands and that difference is all it took. I'll check your other video now. Thanks again.
I'm a thinner person and even I avoided the Jimmy Fallon ride because the seats look so cramped/uncomfortable and made me claustrophobic looking at them lol. I have no idea why they would make them so small?
you had to have been close on Gringots. The one time I was able to ride it, I was around 320. The main thing was getting your knees between the bars that come down.
I feel like I’m the only person who hates the rip ride rocket seats. I carry weight in my lower belly, hip, and boob area and they are very uncomfortable to me
Yeah...you might have a few issues with some things. Most of the tight rides are tight because of hip and shoulder width. You may still be good but i would guess a lot of things will be a bit snug.
I am going next week with my brother in law. You and him are similar in size however I was curious about your height, he is 6'0ft 320lbs, figuring if he is taller by a few inches he may have some luck with a few of these tight squeeze rides.
Having a little extra height does help some with overall weight distribution (i'm 5'9). But, its gonna be a squeeze either way....make sure to check all the test seats first so you don't have to wait in those long lines. Good luck!

Based on your height to weight ratio, I suspect you'll probably be ok (and have issues with) The same rides I did. If you watch my video and hear me say I can't ride or it was a tight fit, those are the ones I would worry about. It's really hard to tell for sure though. Everybody is built different. sadly all theme parks are in no way fat friendly "large either" They are all focused on skinny people which doesn't set a good example for kids or tens. They are also very not disabled friendly either.
Probably not. A couple may be a little snug (depending on where you hold your weight) but I would bet a hefty sum that you'll be able to ride whatever you want.
I'm 6'5 and almost 300LB. I managed to "fit" into those seats on that second ride since my weight is pretty evenly spread out over my body. Worst decision of the day! Spend the whole ride using my legs fighting the g-forces, pushing myself back in the seat trying prevent my upper body from digging into that safety bar since it was so painful. Then there was that divider between your legs...my boys were perched right on top of it. Needless to say, I thought they were going to rupture. By the time we rolled back into the station, my face was so red I was starting to turn purple and I was breathing heavily. Big dudes should just skip this ride all together.
I don't think a 4 year old will have a whole lot they can ride. ....but the simulator rides and everything in Seuss landing will probably be safe. Avoid coasters and Harry Potter area for rides.....but go for the ButterBeer!

I have a 57in waist, I am around 5' 11'' and I weigh somewhere around 310-315 and my main concerns are Hagrid's and Gringotts. I am planning on going in a few months (September!), do you think I have a chance?
It's gonna be close. I tried the test seat for Hagrid's when I was there.....and I couldn't quite get it. I was really close though at about 325-330 lbs. ....but I'm also a couple inches shorter than you at 5'9. Good luck to you....hope it works out.
@@DorkyDude I'm still planning on going in September, but I now have a 50-51in waist, again I don't want to take any chances so I've kinda been on the grind when it comes to burning off my tubby side. I am also anywhere between 295-285. I will let you know if I am able to fit on anything!

I really like that there are testers seats. It would really suck and be embarrassing to get to the front and not be able to fit. I'm a plus size woman at a little over 360lbs so this is awesome.

I've gone from 380 to 270 in the last year and I'm finally going to try US for the first time this summer, and I've been so stressed over the thought of fitting into their rides because of US' terrible reputation. Great video! I found that Disney is MUCH more accommodating for large folks like myself, so don’t give up hope for being able to have fun with your family in Orlando. FYI on the Jimmy Fallon ride. I visited Universal Florida this last summer, and the employees there came up to me and gave me a seat belt extender right away. I’m 6’ 00”, 400 lbs and my weight is pretty evenly distributed. Rode it twice with no problem with that extender. If needed, don’t hesitate to ask for one.
We have had a great time at Disney in the past. We went the year before I made this Universal Video and I was able to ride everything at around 400 lbs. I'm hoping to get back to Universal soon at under 300 and try a few more of these rides I wasn't able to try the last time. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this guide! I do wish it was up-to-date but yours was the most up-to-date I could find! This is so important for fat people and bigger-bodied people. For some rides, your waist has to be less than 40" which I feel like is so small! I wish public spaces accommodated fat people and our bodies better. Thank you for this information!
I don't know if this comment will find you in time before my trip, but if I may ask, what size shirt were you wearing during this trip to universal? I'm currently at 6 ft (350 lbs) and wear a 4xb.
I believe I was wearing standard 4XL for most of the trip....but they were a little on the baggy side. I was almost back into 3XL's at this point. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
The Harry Potter ride he spoke of I thought was very uncomfortable. I am 275 at most & as a woman carry my weight in my lower stomach & the bar had to get in a yellow area & actually have a piece click out. Even though my bar was locked, and it showed the yellow - it did not pop out so they would not let me on the ride. I did not see the test seat but it's worth seeing all of the stuff before the actual ride!
If you are talking about "The Forbidden Journey", I agree. The castle is well worth walking through to see the theming inside....it's like an attraction unto itself. Thank you sharing as well. I know we are not all built the same, so it's fantastic to hear from another perspective of someone that has attempted the ride.
@@DorkyDude Escape from Gringotts was the ride I had trouble with. Seems like they could be more accommodating on these. The bar could come down & still lock on heavier people without it having to lock in a specific spot for everyone. Thanks for your reviews!
I was always so nervous about not fitting on coasters that I didn’t try for a while. I was 321 lbs and almost had the same body as you did, at least proportioned the same. I’m down to 264 and I’m so excited to get back on some coasters again. This is a fantastic video and so informative. My wife is a bigger woman too, so it’s nice to know that we will fit on most of these rides when we go at some point in the near future.
Usually about 10lbs an inch is what I notice is comparable when I compare myself to the fit of others. So, Since you're like 6 inches taller than me.....the length should give you enough room to "stretch" out and make the fit. Good luck!
With regards to Jimmy Fallon, they do offer seat belt extenders if you ask while you're waiting in line. They're very discreet about it and it's already in there and hooked up when you get to your seat.
Excellent video, thank you so much for all the great information. I have the pleasure of not only being fat, but also tall. You mentioned several times your current weight, but how tall for reference? At about 6'4" and 330lbs, in your experience on these rides will the height be an issue in addition to the weight?
I've heard that it can be. At 6'4, your 330 is probably stretched out a little more than my 330 was when I went. I'm 5'10 with most of my body length in my torso. I'm able to pull my legs in quite a bit because they're short. I would imagine that you will probably be able to ride nearly the same rides that I was. The one exception I see is that maybe you will be able to get onto Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.....test seat out front (try the bike and not the side car). Hope this helps. You may want to check out Parks In Your Pocket. Dave on that channel does similar videos to me, except he's tall (6'8 I think).....could be some good info for you.
Don't take my word as a guarantee.....but I think you'll likely fit. It may be a bit tight.....but I think you'll manage. Test seats out front of both of these rides though.....so you can at least check before you wait. Good luck to you! Let me know how it goes.
