He's probably set the furthest away from the captain, because at the time I doubt that Durham or any other university/university college that enters University Challenge knows how valuable each player will be.

I read your comments and thought you were all being cruel. Then I watched this episode. Brasenose were completely clueless. Durham were not wonderful either.

They had to beat about 100 other teams to get there. Can’t you cut them some slack? Maybe the questions just didn’t fall their way this time. How about a little kindness. Would you do better given the thousands of possible questions that you just might not know?

I don't like the system with starters leading to bonus questions where one team can clean up if they're lucky enough to guess the right answers while the other team can't speak.
