Not sure whether you worded your comment to attract the sickos out from under their rocks but it worked. I find it odd that they should have any interest in a programme like UC.
1) Sophie Hobbs FTW! I'm old enough to know when people such as her would have had a hell of a hard time just trying to live their life, and it's bloody marvellous to see people like her just being able to crack on with life (albeit with some online abuse, I see... :-\ )
I believe there was someone on a couple of years ago, but just off the top of my head I can't remember which season or team. What's humorous about the word "Kielbasa", out of curiosity?
Yeah let's have Ozzy on, and why not Geezer Butler in a dress? Ah the old sausage jokes are the best. First time I've noticed anyone quite so obviously trans, but then I am paying more attention to the show than I used to.
2) I may be weird (on reflection, I'd better be more realistic and say I *am* weird), but I like words, especially longer or more obscure ones. For this reason, I've been loving the two rounds this season involving words with only one vowel. Rococo, Bonobo, Oolong - they're the kind of thing that just make me smile. Now that they've done A and O, really looking forward to I, E and U (and Y if you accept the part-time vowel rule) :-) For some reason, I thought they'd done a round using only A, but I can't seem to find it. Has anybody seen that, or am I weird and mad?
Fucking Jupiter? Is he having a laugh? I'm not a University student, nor will I ever have University education but even I knew that'd be Mercury because it's just common sense. Pluto would have been a more sensible answer and that's not even considered a planet anymore.
jupiter?? really? you think a small portion of the surface of earth is equal to the surface area of the by far biggest planet in the solar system? These are university students are they?
Plus, it's "Hutchings", not "Hitchens." University Challenge never had a "Hitchens". They had a "Hitchings" instead who went to Jesus College, Oxford in 2013.
I hear there is to be "gender balance" ( sexism against men) for the challenge teams in future. The same people proposing "gender balance" do not think there is even such a thing as gender. There Is no such thing as gender, but fifty percent of the teams have to consist of a certain gender i.e. women. Is anyone else confused by this feminist logic. The fact of the matter is, if we want a meritocracy we have to realise that men are better at some things and women are better at some things. One of the things that men are better at is answering general knowledge questions. Why do feminists get so insecure at this.
