Thank you! This was such a good video, I was trying to find out what the wardrobe looked like and under bed storage but this was the only one I found after loads of searching.
✨technically✨you’re not allowed anything that plugs into the mains (so battery powered ones would be fine) but i had some and so did most of my friends and it was totally fine !
thank you so much for this video, it was really useful! i’m really interested in going to exeter and this is the best video of birks i’ve seen so thank you for this! just a couple of questions, sorry 1) was it worth going for an en-suite or is it better to save the money and share? 2) did you enjoy living in birks? is it as nice as people say it is? 3) did you apply to live in birks or were you allocated there? 4) are the townhouses in birks similar to where you lived just with shared bathrooms? or are they very different?which would you recommend? thank you again and i’d definetely watch a follow up video :)
Hiya! I'm glad the video was helpful :) dw about asking questions- that's what I'm here for! 1 - imo I really appreciated having an en-suite. It was just nice to have a bathroom all to myself. That being said, friends from other unis who have shared said that they didn't mind having to share, so it's all personal opinion. Think about how comfortable you would be going to the bathroom in the middle of the night or how comfortable you are with other people. These might not even be issues at all. My flatmates and I did all agree though that we liked having our own bathrooms. 2 - I really did enjoy living in Birks! The people and atmosphere were really nice and it was a comfortable distance from town and main campus. I would definitely say it is as nice as people say it is (but bear in mind it is still student accommodation) 3 - Birks was my top choice! 4- townhouses are behind the central catered block. As far as I could tell, they looked really nice and sociable. (I'm gonna ask a few friends and get some more info re recommendations, pros and cons, distance from town and campus etc. but I hope this was a bit helpful)
Hi! Birks is my top accommodation atm for Exeter so it'd be great if you could do a more detailed vid on what it's like living there. This was really helpful, thanks!
i’m actually working on it right now! thanks for commenting - is there anything specifically you’d like to know so i can answer those questions in my video?
hiya! I know this video was posted quite a while ago, but I was just wondering if you recall the walls being thin at all? It's just that all the rooms look close together and I feel like it'd be easy to hear people through the walls.
heya - so the walls are basically soundproof ! once you go out into the corridor you can hear what’s going on in other rooms sometimes, but you can’t hear much between rooms
Hiya, could you please do a more detailed video about living in Birks? I’ve put the townhouse as my top choice so it’s be great if you could give some more info about those if you know any but also about living in Birks in general x
hey! i’ve actually already filmed it but i have included some info about townhouses :) unfortunately idk a whole lot about them but they seem to be the favourite - they have a big social area and seem like nice places to live!
congrats !! the view on the other side of the block is of the bank and trees up to clydesdale road. it gets really pretty with all the daffodils but is a tad darker in the evenings. the kitchen feels huge unless everyone’s in there at once but even then there’s enough room for everybody :))
hiya! i have just received my offer for birks and was wondering if you had any advice on wear to buy bedding bc i can’t find much for the longer length beds? thanks xx
hey ! congrats and welcome to exe🎉so i think that i used ikea bedding - check out their european sizes? but i had a weird shaped bed at home too and i think just used the same sheets so i’m not sure how much help i can be :( xx
hiya - is block A catered? if so then your room will be slightly different to mine as you’ll have a double bed and i think you might also have a mini fridge. i think you might also have a proper bathroom instead of a wet room :)
