The University of Georgia canceled classes Thursday after a woman was found dead on the campus. The woman's friend called campus police concerned about the woman's well-being after she failed to return from a morning run, the university said.

I am from Australia & the thought of seeing my kids off to campus makes me sick. Those Alpha pie Sorority things, Greek life , hazing , rapes , sa’s etc all gives me mini lord of the flies vibes. Campus cops that are useless at protecting the kids. Not to mention the $$$$. My daughter went to Uni , we don’t have all this competition & prestige crap either that kids worry about if they will be accepted or not. She lived at home , I knew she was safe etc I understand that’s how you do things over there but I am def glad as a parent I didn’t have to go through all the worry you do. 😢

I am in my third year at UGA. This narrative you have in your mind of campus life is a fiction. Most people I know at the college of engineering are to busy to have social lives anyways.
