UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN 

The University of Ilorin Zoological Garden was founded in 1976 as a small unit under the Department of Zoology. The zoo is located on a vast area of land in the Guinea Savannah vegetation belt south of the Sahara. It is one of the largest wild life sanctuaries in south western Nigeria and home to numerous African species in the wild world. It receives hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly as a holiday resort. It collaborates with many zoological gardens, research institutes, Universities and non-governmental organizations in promoting breeding programs in captivity and safeguarding African endangered species in the wild. It provides an ideal recreational infrastructure and relaxing serenity to visitors in the luxury of its Guinea Savannah and improvised rainy forest niches. The species of wild life captured in this flash video are in no way exhaustive but represents a glimpse of the wild life world in the University zoological garden.
