The University of Miami's College of Engineering designed an innovative new bridge on the Coral Gables campus that is built with composite materials and no steel. This type of bridge will resist corrosion, which is impacting infrastructures throughout the country and is expected to escalate in coastal areas susceptible to rising seas caused by climate change.
