Even the crappy London apartments sound better than sharing a communal bathroom with a floor of 40, with no kitchen. Look up KU Student Housing on RU-vid, GSP specifically. I was lucky enough to be in Self hall two-person in 2017, a brand new dorm where I shared a bedroom and bathroom with my roommate. We could reserve the one kitchen for a building of 350 people, if a student group hadn't reserved it first. I think it was mainly intended for students who are stuck in the dorms over breaks, who need something a bit bigger than their in-room mini fridge and microwave to cope with fewer dining centers being open over break periods.
