Update - The song it´s part of a publicity stunt for the French bank "Crédit Agricole" back in 2007: and it appears the involved are all French actors/singers (the Vlad The Impaler-looking guy is Nicolas Benamou, a french director, screenwriter, film and TV producer). I presume that Nicolas Benamou is the guy responsible for writing the song and producing the ad, since it´s on his list of produced advertisments - dated 2007 - in the French Website "agencesartistiques". However, we still don´t know whoo all the actors involved are and if someone else was responsible for the lyrics of the song (I suspect someone else is involved, unless Benamou somehow knows Hungarian).

Everyone says it's a parody of Moskau. Is it true? Yes and no. If you compare the structure of both songs, they are played differently. Different parts, different instruments, not to mention the structure of the verse and chorus. But it's the 80s! Moskau was a hit in those years, and Dschinghis Khan was on top! When someone did something popular, it's hard to expect that no one would try to do something similar. And at the same time in Eastern Europe, and especially in the USSR, it became fashionable to steal western song motifs or pure instrumentals to make tracks for them, which later became popular. The same happened with song Zoltan. They listened to Moskau in Hungary, found out that it was popular in Eastern Europe and made their own. But, unlike "One Way Ticket" and Russian parody "Blue Hoarfrost", Hungarian Zoltan simply disappeared, and only now it is found again.

It is indeed a parody of Moskau LOL. Yesterday I was literally on Daily Motion and I also found out that afternoon/evening that Zoltan was found and the fact that it's on Daily Motion. I was overjoyed yesterday because this is one of my top 3 lost songs that I want to be found.
