One of my favorite books for snappy dialog and smart writing is Russo's Everybody's Fool. That book is hilarious too. I have read a ton of Elmore Leonard. Smooth cool characters and some real bad boys too.

I gotta say, I enjoy Elmore Leonard’s westerns better than his later stuff.
