Being a Psychology major, this movie continues to fascinate me! Psych studies the cases of near-feral children (or in Dani's case, children trained to be subhuman) all the time, but rarely do you get to explore what they might grow up to be! Its an incredible story, and a rarity to mix it with martial arts. From an Psychological stance, its the small details like the Pavlovian response with the collar (how Dani won't act while the collar's on) that makes this a truly wonderful performance.
Not gonna lie, almost forgot about this one. Great film, absolutely brutal and heartwarming at the same time. Really shows Jet Li's acting chops, a rarity for western audiences.
So you lie normally? Or why was that statement necessary? Or do you claim to be trustworthy on habit because words have lost meaning in your environment, and are being used out of popularity instead of actual definitions? It’s cool, words doesn’t mean anything anyway.
So awesome to see Jet Li, Bob Hoskins, AND freaking Morgan Freeman in the same damn movie! Thanks for the reaction, brother! PS. Please react to Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan and/or Chernobyl!
not me realizing itsTHE BOB HOSKINS from who framed roger rabbit. Bob can really act, OMG I watched WFRR a billion times yet I never connected the two because I loved bob so much in WFRR. absolutely cant stand him in this movie. but thats a good thing. the man has range
Once again, you’re watching a movie I haven’t seen in a long time, but I absolutely loved. Thanks for always bringing these entertaining reactions to the people.
I open up RU-vid and this is at the top of the screen and I'm like: "YES! People actually remember this insane, brutal, fun, and somehow genuinely sweet film!"
My boy Christian knows what's good! We both discussed later how much we miss Bob Hoskins' acting; man knew how to steal the show when he was on screen.
Devin, it was Bob Hoskins character the uncle that killed his mother and took Dani right then and there. You can tell by the pinkie ring. Great reaction man keep it up, big fan man.
He's still doing films. When he slowed down the number of roles he accepted, it was during the time he was dealing with hyperthyroidism, and then because of his charity work. He's getting older, and is just enjoying life with his 4 daughters, so he's more selective about taking jobs.
When an Elephant is Born in the Circus, They Place a Huge Chain on the Elephants foot, so it can't Run Around. As the elephant get's Older, the Chains are replaced with lighter ones. So by the Time the Animal is an Adult, A Simple Rope can be Used to Tie then up. The Elephant is So Conditioned, it does know it could Easily Snap it. Thus was Dani's Life as a Dog.
I remember me and my dad bought a demo tape version of this movie from our local movie store. They were just like hey, I’m trying to sell this if you want the movie. It’s actually super awesome. We watched it, and it was.
this movie goes to show how POWERFUL the mind can be. how restrictive it can be. how learned behaviors can make or break you. the way you are raised can be everything if you let it. crazy
This is, in my opinion, Jet Li's best movie! So good! Bob Hoskins is so good in this. And Jet's performance is incredible. He's so heartbreakingly good at acting like a dog. So cute and gentle, then the collar comes off and he becomes terrifying. Just like a damn pitbull or husky. This movie blows my mind everytime.
If you haven’t seen much Jet Li See more. He is one of my all time Favs! Try The One. That is fun too also, if I remember correctly Stathem’s first time doing martial arts & wire effects.
This is without a doubt, Jet Li's best Western movie. Everything was on point. The story, the acting, the action, the music, everything was A+. I never get tired of rewatching.
Love this movie, even when the ending hits hard. A well rounded movie, at times you feel sad for Danny and other time it's filled with badass fights scenes and action. Hands down one of Jet Li best performances, I also love the role that Morgan Freeman plays and portrays in this film. This movie is one of the reasons that made me fall in love with the piano and over all classical music. It looks like you missed some of the back story of Danny, so let me help and clear the confusion up a little for you Devin, Danny's mother was a student from China studying in music in London, in the classical arts. One day Danny's mother stop receiving money from her parents, and she no longer could pay for her studies and tuition any more. So she look to make money by becoming a hooker and worked for Uncle Brat, but she wanted to stop and leave that life style and he killed her. Hope that clears up, the confusion up a little, love your reactions man, cant wait for the next one !!!
The first fighter in the pit was Scott Adkins, some say he's the best all 'round martial artist in the world, he's famous for his amazing kicks. You should see him as Yuri Boyka in the Undisputed series or Ninja and Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear. In El Gringo he goes all John Wick Gun-FU. Scott is actually cast in John Wick 4 (Donnie Yen too) so it's gonna have great fight scenes.
Jet Li Is a legend. He has so many great films. You need to check out his Eastern movies.. Once upon a time in China, tai chi master, Hero, fearless, Fist of Legend. Such a good catalog. I live his western movies too. The One, kiss of the dragon. Don't sleep on Jet Li.
Another great Jet Li movie is Fearless! If you like fighting movies, you've gotta see Ong Bak & Warrior King (with Toni Ja) they're among the best fighting films you'll see. The guy jumps through a small ring of barbed wire whilst being chased by a butcher knife gang, crazy stunts.
Awesome Jet Li movie. Another good Jet Li movie worth seeing, in my opinion, is The Forbidden Kingdom. In my opinion, has a good story, good action, and a great fighting scene where Jet Li and Jackie Chan fight each other with a bunch of different kung fu fighting styles
Had never seen this movie before. Good movie and good review. Keep up the good work. By watching movies that the other reactors aren't watching you are setting yourself above your peers.
Love this one, haven't watched it in years, who better to grab the snacks and re watch it with? Epic reaction, you'd probably enjoy fist of legend and the one, two other Jet Li movies I enjoy a lot. 😎
I've always meant to watch this movie but never did til now and I'm glad it was with my homie Devin G reacting. Keep em coming big dawg, love your channel
He trained him to be an attack dog the same as you train a guard dog. The trauma after his mother's murder scarred him and allowed for the Pavlovian collar action instead of a trigger word.
Another great movie Bob Hoskins (the bad guy) is Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That is a really good movie. I just watched it again not long ago. It still holds up.
Watch Quigley Down Under. Tom Selleck Western with the bad guy from Die Hard, but it takes place in Australia. Selleck is basically an old west sniper.
