I caught this on sale at adorama, hopefully my ursa isn't too heavy for this 🤞🏾

It looks like it is balanced at one height. So if you need to hold it high or low, does that mean you need use extra force to do it. I mean does it still help as much if you are not holding it at the balanced height.
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich 6 месяцев назад
Hey @KaiLiuvisual Thanks for the comment! It is kinda magic, as long as it is not to heavy for the rig it will stay in one place and all you have to do is lift it up (assisted) and it will stay at that height or pull it down and it will stay there also. It works wonders and I highly recommend it if you are using a camera for a long period of time. Hope that answers the questions, Cheers!

I have such a hard time release my cam from the quick release, do you have that issue?
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich Месяц назад
Thanks for reaching out! I have not to this date. I set it on something to take the pressure off of the quick release and it usually pops off pretty easy. When I am doing it with nothing under it, I will struggle a little bit. Hope that helps, cheers!

Came across your overview on the easy rig and really appreciate the insight. I've been considering picking one up and this helped answer the majority of my questions. Super random question, what SDI cables are you running?! they look super flexible, fit nicely while not having to much extra hanging around..
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich Год назад
Thanks for the comment! Not random, I have gotten a lot of questions on them and will be doing a video just about these cables. They are from www.cableflexer.com/shop. They produce great quality cables with quickish turn arounds. The fit and finish is next level though. Cheers!

Thank Karl for this video. One question, please. Have you ever bumped into the frame of a door as you walked through it with Easyrig on your back?

Absolutely! Thanks for the comment, and view. I am 6'1 and come close but haven't hit yet. I have bounced off of pipes and such on jobs. It is for sure up there and I always am thinking about it. Hope that helps! Cheers!

thanks for the video, using the minimax on my FS7 rig by myself - got into following problems, how do you do your work around with: - unbalance: if I take off my hands camera should be in level, right? its easy to fix the front / back balance with the spot I put the easy rig on the handle, but what about left / right balance? how do you set the level of your camera? - pulling focus: do you use autofocus all the time? how do you work with manual lenses - you hold it just on the follow focus with the left hand? because switching from handle to focus usually gets a little shake I want to avoid - what kind of side handle do you use? - do you always put the camera against your body or do you let it swing in the air sometimes? thanks for your answers :)

Thank you for the comment and I will be happy to answer these the best I can! • For leveling off the camera left to right I use a bubble level in top of the camera itself + the internal level on the monitors. Since there is no way to change the left to right weight besides weights or offsetting the top handle, I just deal with that and make sure it is level the whole time. • I use a mixture of both. If I am tracking a moving subject I will use auto focus but if I am interviewing someone or want full control I will use manual. I don't use any tools for focusing. I like to feel the lens and make those micro adjustment if I need to. • I have the Bright Tangerine Kasbah handle and the Sony OEM Handle. I Have found that the side handle on both sides alow me to hold the camera more stable and adjust the level from left to right easier. • I mostly hold it against my body, I have found this to be the most stable options while getting that slight look of handheld footage. I may from time to time if I need a certain shot let it hang and guide it around. I hope those help and if you have any more questions let me know as I would be happy to answer them. Thanks, Cheers!

I've been using it for about a week and can't get comfortable wearing it. I keep putting way too much strain on my back. I've adjusted every which way, and I just get fatigued after an hour of use. What tips do you recommend? I use a tilta advance rig/ronin 3 Pro with an external monitor.
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich 5 месяцев назад
I am sorry to hear that! Have you reached out to Easy-Rig? They are super helpful! I had mind set up wrong for a bit and now have moved the bar up flush with the back piece along with not running the string all the way out at the end. I have found that this has helped not only by back and shoulders but also my camera balance too. The Ronin 3 with the rig and camera may be a little to much for it also. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

Awesome information! I’m shooting on the fx6 as well and looking at any easyrig. I have 2 questions… 1. Any concerns running the easyrig with the stock fx6 handle? 2. How is the quick release working for you? I want that style over the long and loop setup. Also… subbed!
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich Год назад
Thanks for the comment and sub! Appreciate it! Let's answer those questions... 1) I was at first but now I just re-tighten it before every shoot and make sure during that it isn't coming lose. I haven't found it lose yet though. 2) I love the quick release! I was in the same boat, I didn't want the other style and was questionable about the Quick Release but yeah so far one of the best investments. Hope that helps and thanks again for reaching out! Cheers!

Great vid! Why did you choose the mimimax over the stabil?
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich Год назад
Thank you! And thanks for the comment! Mainly price, this is my first Easy Rig and just getting into it was almost $1300. The STABIL may be in my future and would be great for walking shots. For now the Minimax will have to do 😉 Cheers!

Great, thanks. How is manual focusing with the rig? Easier?
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich Год назад
Yeah, I’d say it’s easier. I run a handle close to the lens, so I focus with my middle finger. Or I run a mini follow focus. Both are easier when the weight is off the camera. Thanks for the comment, cheers!

great video! I run a7siii handheld but realize somewhere down the road I will probably get an FX6 and also an easy rig as it doesn't have any internal stabilization to my knowledge. so this was interesting to watch as I want this set up in the future. just curious, what were the tipping points for you to move from a7siii to fx6? (assuming the s3 used to be your A cam and then eventually it became your B cam when you got an fx6). Is it the internal VNDs? The bulkier size so the client is more impressed haha (it's funny but kindof real too...) any other big differences that made you get the fx6? thanks!
@KarlWeinreich
@KarlWeinreich 4 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment! The FX6 does not have any stabilization so all of that would have to be in post or with the use of other tools. The Easy-rig helps a ton in saving your back with a heavier rig and helps take most of those big movements out of the shots. As far as why I went with the FX6 over the FX3 or another A7SIII. The internal ND is huge for me personally. I see the need for it so much when you can't control every shoots time of day shooting. I use filters a lot in my matte box but and they are great but nothing beats the internal ND's. I like the MXF Wrapper for editing also. It seems to be easier to use in my case. It is just a beefier FX3/A7SIII and I like that. I also wanted something that had the perception people want to see and I will not hide that. I like to rig my camera out in more of a cinema way as I feel it works better and easier when in use. I use the hell out of my A7SIII still and will never replace it as long as it keeps going. Hope that helps, thanks again for the comment, Cheers!

@@KarlWeinreich Good to know. I had to ship mine to EasyRig to have the power pack replaced for about $300 as it was slipping around 11 lbs. Thats the risk of buying a rental.
