I think you are missing the point,.. basic workshop, (chickens in background), No doubt supplying furniture at a price to suit the locals... Horses for courses... Oh and well done on your 40 years of quality craftsmanship. Who knows, the 30 year featured may one day achieve that same level.. 😉

Everyone talking about “oh you need to do this” “oh you need to do that” just needs to mind their own business. I’ve had “top of the line” furniture that’s come apart within a year. If your method works and it lasts then so be it. Everyone has their way and if they haven’t changed it most of the time it means it works. I’ve seen dudes put projects together with just brad nails and glue and it’s lasted years (my moms kitchen table). It’s taken a beating but it’s still firm and strong. Probably mostly due to the wood but that shit still stands strong. I may have lied there were a few screws used but mostly on the legs

Nice job but i think the grain of the door panels should be vertical , I also think he drilled through the panels when drilling for the hinges because the styles were too narrow for that particular hinge. watch again as he drills for the hinges

First thing I'd like to say is that this is way beyond my capability's and I do really appreciate the skill and workmanship here. That said it would take very little effort to hide the nail holes which do detract from the finish imo,

Hmmm. There are so many basic woodworking errors; I'm not sure where to begin. First off, those mitered corners in the beginning are going to blow apart, even with those support blocks. As another person posted, gluing those flat boards to the frame doesn't account for expansion that will split the frame joints. When gluing flat boards, like in the beginning, temporary cross boards are needed to keep them in alignment when clamping......
@patrickarchuleta9594
@patrickarchuleta9594 Год назад
It depends on what type of glue I've put crown molding and made cabinet doors mitered after 47 yrs have not come apart.Bottom line God bless you and your family. Keep it going.

Dislike people who think they are experts and are not. How you judge people work so shall you be likewise.
@bobgardin2347
@bobgardin2347 Год назад
The miters would need some type of reinforcement to keep from eventually breaking. Tenons, dowels, or biscuits could work. In reply to another comment, you could say I'm an expert. Over 40 years in the profession designing and manufacturing cabinetry in residential and commercial markets.

Why did you hail the drawer front into the drawer box. You could have used double sided tape and not have nails in the front of the drawer face. Lots of bad mistakes.
@ifollowjesus1667
@ifollowjesus1667 Год назад
I have done this too. It’s quicker if you don’t have that tap ( it saves me time especially when doing multiple drawers), plus when I’m going quick in a hot garage 🥵the last thing I want to do is add more time as I can just nail it in 5 seconds and use wood filler which takes like 10 more seconds and then screw it like he did. I do see your point though, makes it for a cleaner look for sure) My dream is to one dat have an air conditioning room to do woodworking. Have a good day. God bless .
