Good video-I do use satellite pictures when thre there is severe weather and I use the loop to see what u else is there besides the clouds forming-it’s real educational! 😊😊😊😊😊

Quick Question: I use satellite extensively but I am in the Northeast region primarily, and as such, drylines just aren’t as prominent as they are in the Southern Plains for example. When trying to identify a dry line on Satellite, what exactly is the “tell” ?? Is it the clear air behind it with a line of cumulus out in front of it in a linear fashion? I’m assuming that is what you’re looking for when identifying the dry line? Great satellite primer vid for sure though! 👍🏻👍🏻 Edit: You basically answered it at 6:15 lol… I typed my question too early 😅

Thank you! Very informative. Where is the best place to find that satellite loop?

Good question! I use the app Satsquatch but you can get these for free at weather.cod.edu as well!

I'm missing how this satelite loop shows where the jet stream is located?

Not located per-se as much as seeing what the upper flow is, though the presence of cirrus does indicate some sort of lift in the upper levels and they can sometimes preclude storm development!
