People wouldn’t be operating illegally if you gave people the fair chance to open up a legitimate legal weed shop without all of the loopholes that you’re going to make that business owner go through just to have a legal weed shop open.
@@ElIbroDelos5anillos no those loopholes are there because they do not want to many middle class Americans becoming rich. They would rather control the revanue that's generated through the distribution of marjiuana by allowing those that are already rich or politically connected take control of the marjiuana business. Better yet they would rather it be out sourced through Canada or elswhere because God forbid we start to see more wealth spread across the middle class. Corporate giants and political puppets that want to see more future generations become the working class would never let the common man upset there pockets and elitist agendas.. history has proven that time and time again.. unfortunately it has everything to do with classism and not allowing wealth to spread uncontrollably without it being tracked and taxed and to be fair about it being a drug.. alcohol, cigarettes are way worse and about 99 percent of Americans could care less about that. The majority of Americans are also very accepting of marjiuana and would like to see it bring in an influx of money into the economy.. and no not just into the hands of the already super rich.
$200,000 every 2 years for license. You pay $210,000 to apply and if you don't get it they only refund $200,000. No wonder people will just keep doing it without a license.
@@Hambone2ksome stores are casually saying they're licensed and have the certificate hanging on their wall. Problem is most aren't sure what a real one looks like so they could be printing out word docs. Hard to find something real in NYC. So much fake shit and difficult to tell.
My Canadian province did the same thing. As if their crony buddies handed the licenses to grow and sell could ever grow better pot than the farmers that surround me. Keep weed black market, cut out the government leeches
LIterally, no. What lab is testing their products? These dudes, while entrepreneurial sure, are 100 percent going to jail. Which is sad, they may end up being one of the last to do hard jail time before true legalization. Work for a recreational facility in any state and you’ll know first hard just how many rounds of testing these product must go through to legally sell to the public. What they are doing is no different than a boot legger selling alcohol illegally.
Never thought I'd legalization being pushed nationally in my lifetime, let alone in NYC. Like Nas said "Imagine smokin' weed in the streets without cops harassin'."

As someone who used to smoke weed, cigarettes and occasional recreational stuff. I honestly hate it being so public. I've stopped everything and I have nothing against others but smelling weed every single place you walk gets really sickening really fast. Especially when you have kids.

@@PlanetMondo no they won’t they’re black.. lol they will allow them to operate . If they was white they would’ve been shut down already NYC is one of those states were minorities don’t have to follow any rules
Exactly 💯.....if you try and go legit in NY there is aways a beurocrat thatvis in the way. And that same beurocrat is the one that should be charged. They will not even let people grow. Only those with money (Millions and Millions) are allowed to grow or those outside the state can get a foothold inside NY. NY citizens always get the last bight of the apple. A mouth full of seeds!
I call them Entrepreneurs that are tired of waiting for the government overreach on marijuana regulations and need to make money NOW. It’s a wait game because the city and state gov are slow as hell. They want to take as much as they can from it.
Yeah and every single thug is thinking the same thing I want to get it going now ..that's why you're already seeing guys getting onto with each other in open air weed markets..seen two guys get into it over selling space one guy said the new guy shouldn't be in his part of the park.that turned in a fight...it's already turning into gun play in my city...u legalize a drug and now everybody wants to sell it because they think it's the easiest way to get rich ... thing like that don't go well in the hood ...
As long as these fake shops are still paying taxes on every thc item they sell, they wont be bothered. Trust me i lived in nyc my whole life. They are all making sure to pay tax
The reason normal people like these guys are having trouble waiting for their license Because the government doesn't want you to be able to go get weed from Joe schmo's local weed shop It wants to funnel all those sales into a state owned dispensary so they can regulate prices and demand
Yea I'm still scratching my head how jersey getting $60 an eighth for sub par buds. Make absolutely zero sense. 13% thca is $60, 20% thca is $60... They price gouging and making a killing. Fuck legalization if this how it's gonna be. And with personal cultivation illegal (in my state it will be, no legislation has allowed cultivation) I'll still be breaking the law!
"FOH", JUST 15YRS AGO I WAS GETTING LOCKED UP FOR A NICKEL BAG OF WEED, AND NOW IT'S SOMETHING THAT THE GOVERNMENT PROMOTES SO THEY CAN TAX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smh, just shows how Government is so inefficient. Why is it taking so long to give out licenses and make these stores “legal”? They are hurting consumers , businesses owners and themselves by the slow process.
The application process was initiated about 2 months ago. The first legit dispensaries will probably open before jan 1. These illegal operators won't be able to get a license. The state mj bureau said it will turn down applications from those caught operating now without a license.
@@mrbrainnyc258 which is really just dumb nonsense rules. they're selling weed. They’re all over now and they can’t stop them all. I prefer it actually. As soon as New York regulates it and opens valid stores, the price will be so outrageous that you will still buy illegally or not at licensed store.
Once its legal, the market will flood with product driving the price down. Just like its done here in Oregon. You get get a gram of weed for 1.50 here. 2 grams of shatter for for 20 bucks. Weed is now my cheapest vice.

I understand these young men are trying to break barriers, make a legal way, but the media isn’t always your friend especially when you aren’t in compliance in the city, state or federally .
They have balls of steel and won’t back down from what’s right? NYS has done everything to help the black market and dealers by making absurd taxes on it. As the streets bud is BLOCK work. And what they have there is not block work you can simply see how the buds arnt smashed in the jars.
I know in dc they do something called marijuana gifting like a loop whole you go in and buy paintings or T-shirts and it comes with weed but you’re basically paying regular weed prices but legally they can’t sell you weed it’s crazy
Same thing is happening throughout nyc & Philly with nightclubs & after hours …. Running illegally because only a certain number of liquor licenses are issued each year & it’s a bidding war for them .. costing well over 100k for a LICENSE is crazy
In Ohio, we basically have a cartel made up of a few companies, one of them being former House speaker John Boehner's company. The drunk spent years harassing marijuana users but as soon as he could get a near monopoly he jumped on it.
Good on them for having the GUTS, and for taking the initiative 👏🏻 👍🏻 and getting the ball rolling for OTHERS. So when the sellers are Black and trying to operate legally, they are called "weed dealers"! But the rest who are not Black and dont have a license are what.......?? Yeah see the problem.
Simple Question : If they were selling without a licence why would they agree to appear on national television!!??? Another simple Question : What harm is this causing?

They sad part is all these “officials” see nothing but money being put their way while being able to tax the sale of marijuana, whereas if they were smart and had our best interest in any way shape or form, they would be pushing the legalization to stop those who are trying to smoke a joint, and end up dying because of another human being trying to sell weed that obviously isn’t weed. Getting the real drugs off the street should be the goal, I wouldn’t be surprised if we have heroine stores for the public, as long as they are taxing it, what would they care for

The only reason they're selling it illegally is because they're not given the chance to sell it legally. NYC you want your taxes? Let us black people have some businesses.
Their advertising is so obscene and obnoxious. There is nothing discrete about them at all. Here in the Bronx, it feels like the whole of society is encouraged to be on drugs.

Well, I wonder how long this will go on before a ''smash and grab" happens. I lived in NYC for years, and I'm so glad I'm out of there it's not funny. The city has turned into a total cesspool .
Big corporations are gonna take over those shops and/or their cultivation spots. They might get priced out due to unsustainable high taxes and might have to sell out to the big guys. Not a bad idea, right?!
@@harlemboy413 or someone from the police department should use the taxpayers money to buy up all the weed…put it in their inventory where it is the most safe, and resell back to the public at face value. Or they can sell to these corporations that have medical labs and your insurance can someday pay for these medicines because they should also be used for medicinal purposes. Only thing is using taxpayer money to buy marijuana SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!
this is EXACTLY what happened in Toronto Canada when we legalized weed, there was a grey area when they SAID they WOULD legalize, but did NOT yet, so in that grey area period, we had like 100 illegal dispensaries around town, and they were constantly getting busted and raided by cops and then opened again the next day, it was nuts. but now it's all just government stores left. and native ones, which are semi-illegal. this is all a great thing though, LEGALIZE :)
If you were the police would you want to enforce this? Especially in a state that will most likely give them a slap on the wrist? I'd like to see how many would be happy to pay taxes on this. The man running the illegal shop says he would be happy to pay taxes hope he is keeping good records because it appears to be a joke to him.
The police have no problem enforcing abuelas selling chocolates in the train station, helping baby mamas use courts to rob men while committing perjury and stopping white guys on the highway and "confiscating" their money to keep indefinitely.
They'll start shutting all these operations once legal dispensaries open in the next couple of months. Legit operators will obviously insist on closing these storefronts and trucks. The city will act anyway to to stop losing the tax revs.
