@@AdrianColley ive seen a bit of his standup and it's brilliant. he does a slew of one-liners, but they build on each other over time, and the final one is like a big door slam, absolutely epic! he's one of the greatest masters of one liners.
Every time I watch this episode I am really tempted to consult a dictionary for the definition of “spatchcock”…..but then I stop, realizing that I’d rather have the dirty, highly suggestive definition that this episode put into my head. 😈
@@Tredenix The BBC didn sell Bake Off. The BBC had the programme under contract from a private production company which owns the concept. When the contract up for renewal Channel 4 outbid the Beeb.
It was a whole scandal at the time. The "thinking about how much channel 4 are paying me" joke was about the same thing: Paul Hollywood was the only person to go with the programme to channel 4, the others refused out of principle (they thought the production company were just being greedy and had deliberately raised their prices beyond what they knew the BBC could afford).
That #Brexit joke hits me hard. I was just starting my life at a minimum wage job in the UK, that is enough for me, because in my country it is 3x LESS, and housing 2x more ( Portugal ), and I could not go back because they do not accept "non posh people that didnt finished University!". I am wondering, whos working in the pubs, warehouses, call centers now ? I doubt the English want that. If any one knows of a way to get sponsorship, let me know, I am not a violent, religious dude. Just your simple caucasian Portuguese, born here, with no future, past or present. Cheers!
There's a definite shortage of workers in fields that used to be propped by EU workers. A couple of examples are in the care sector and in fruit picking (it's seasonal work that wouldn't support the locals, so they used to pay people from the EU for the short time they were required before moving on to the next job in another country. Some people who were already here have been allowed to stay (provided they filled out the right paperwork). There are also more visa opportunities in fields that have shortages, but the current government is let's just say a little anti-immigrant overall (despite the current prime minister and several other senior ministers literally coming from immigrant families). You're probably better waiting for a change in government (hopefully next year after the general election).
