@@Ohimeshinso No, they don’t “force” their kids to learn English lmao. This is typical stereo type of Asian families by Westerners lol. Yes, there are more kids that are going to English speaking afternoon programs, but it’s not like every parents are dragging their kids to cram schools. And no, unfortunately I don’t think people in Tokyo can speak English that well. If you’re comparing it to other Japanese cities, than yes, I can see that. But it’s still weak IMO. It’s definitely getting better though.

@@jason1919spezza You'd be surprised, there are an impressive number of kids who are forced to learn English by their parents- forced as in not given a choice in the matter(which should be obvious) and are taught it from a young age alongside Japanese. And there are an shocking number of people who can speak English. Is it perfect English? *No.* Still, there are a surprising number of people in Tokyo that could have a conversation in english once you get used to the accent. The issue is that Japanese people sometimes seem, almost, afraid(?) of speaking imperfect English at times. That may be a result of their value for formality and politeness, and they feel they would be insulting fluent English speakers. But from my experience, there's a quite a lot of people who can speak English in Tokyo, I was expecting to need a translator or speak Japanese at every turn in Tokyo- which wasn't as true as I first thought. You can find a native who can speak English well-enough for a conversation relatively close, not something I can say about other non-English speaking nations. Of course, that doesn't mean they'll necessarily speak to you- possibly out of fear of embarrassing themselves. And the number of people who speak English in Japan is seems to be growing, slowly but surely. Please note, never did I MOST people in Japan or even just Tokyo know or are learning english- I said *many.*

@Slome No, it's because Ufotable just somehow made great animation since 2007 and still improving until now. For a 2005s anime this is actually pretty good. And if you watch this anime today, there's just some weird nostalgic feeling that makes this anime good too
