This short film explains the method of unloading a cooled woodfire kiln and what we learnt from doing this firing. It is small and simple details that are often missed from videos about pottery, but this information will help us to work out how best to load the kiln next time and improve our firing of the next woodfire kiln that we do.
The DCPG is a charity organisation made up of its members. We contribute to the running of the guild for the advancement of pottery knowledge and skills, and the encouragement of the public to get involved with clay. A group of DCPG members meet regularly to develop their skills and understanding of alternate firing methods from conventional electric and gas kilns.
