Bracken Brown Beauty Magnolia trees are gorgeous. I'm in zone 6a with more alkaline soil and have successfully grown a huge one in my yard. The key is to plant it in a protected area, on the east or south side of your house so it doesn't take a direct hit from the cold winter winds. You and your mom have got this!

(Laura's thought on the Burning Bush plant that immediately piqued my interest) "they seem like such a common plant...well, they are around here." My thoughts exactly when she and her mom got excited about the magnolia. 😄 I was shocked at their excitement because it is EVERYWHERE in central NC/7b. It's so intriguing to see and hear what we're all drawn to, based on what our zones dictate/prohibit. Praying that your magnolia thrives and brings you lots of joy Laura! 🙏🏾🥰

I love seeing the behind the scenes at the garden center. I was amazed at the number of plants you receive and couldn’t believe that many people are planting that many plants, but then I thought, but half of those plants are for Laura!

I just love when you magically let us kind of do some "Spring" shopping with you. This also helps us get great ideas of what to shop and look for in our Gardens 👏

That unloading time-lapse was SO SATISFYING!! I used to work at a large garden center, and kind of miss those busy truck days. But now I work for Jack Barnwell down here in Naples so we don't have big shipments like this anymore, but my current job is one I couldn't be happier with!! 🌿

Does anyone else keep paper and pen handy while watching Laura give us tours? I must have written down a half a dozen “Oh, Ah, that’s cool” trees/ shrubs to investigate if they will work in my zone. Unfortunately most of the desired ones are zone 5 or higher and I’m zone 4b. Keep the tours coming Laura, you keep me dreaming of having the perfect garden.

Am I the only one that wants Laura to get a 4 in 1 fruit tree just to show us how it grows over time? It would be so cool to see Laura’s perspective on it, hands on.

What were those "butterflies" that your mom got? Were they plants? Trees? How did they get to that shape? I was really intrigued by those spirally-shaped trees as well. Just visited 4 Garden Centers this weekend and came home with 9 Vivid Azaleas and 122 flowers in 2x2 cells. Pentas, Snapdragons, Angelonias, Gazanias, Beacon Impatiens, and a Roma tomato, a Lavender, a Peppermint, and a Sweet Banana Pepper. Had to buy all this way as our HOA doesn't allow raised beds, greenhouses, or cold frames - so no seed starting for me! I am in zone 9A and laugh a little about "winter interest" (as a native Floridian I'm still waiting for a "true" winter). In 62 years I've seen snow flurries here, but never a sustaining cold! By the way the high today is 89!🌞

Laura, I get so tickled when I see you all get so excited about the new shipments coming. This is truly a "Springtime Christmas".

I understand now how you know and recognize so many plant names ! Unloading , getting a count then organizing you’d get to view it three times then and all those plants need to be watered numerous times, sold and loaded . Working there a few years you’d become a pro ! How fun !

Oh to be young again😀. We lived on Greenville NC and had a beautiful garden. Best time of my life was seeing things grow and working in the soil. Best Black dirt ever. Sure would have helped to have had more information back then. Outside has always been my happy place🙌

Love the tour! It's like Christmas morning with loads of new presents everywhere! Three cheers, Dad, for allowing Laura to get you on the video for more than 2 seconds! Your garden center is over the top beautiful and it's nice to see the Mr. AND Mrs. who make it all happen. I'd love your suggestion for an evergreen shrub for the south side of our home, slow growing, zone 4 (Wisconsin ❄️), and above all... it must be deer resistant! The deer in our neighborhood are plentiful and aggressive munchers! I was thinking about a Mugo Pine?? I've seen a few on some videos that you've done of other people's gardens, but you rarely comment about them specifically. Not your favorite? Any other suggestions? Anyway, thank you for bringing us along into your daily gardening adventures. That white pine with the interesting needles… The first thing that popped into my head when I saw it… “bed head “. Looks like my grandkids when they wake up. 🤣

I've had a brown beauty growing in alkaline soil zone 6b Ohio for almost 20 years in a semi protected spot near larger maple trees. If I put some soil acidifier and hollytone down it blooms if not it really doesn't. If it's a really bad winter it looses it's leaves if not stays evergreen. Really grows just fine I think you'll have no problem.

Yes and am chanting next month. March. April showers brings May flowers! Yes please dirt!

Warmer weather can't get here fast enough. Seeing all those plants brings excitement for new creativity in the garden. Those butterflies - oh my how whimsical! I would love to have them in my garden. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning GA fam! ☕️ How are we all doing? Our first fake spring ended here in the Midwest last night. I am looking out to a freshly fallen 5 inches of snow this morning 😞 Hopefully it’s short lived, and will be gone in a few days. Laura always helps keeps the spring fever alive, though. 😅

I bet you can grow the magnolias! I’m in a zone 6 and my grandmother bought a southern magnolia in 1983. It is still growing great, it was her pride and joy in her garden. My grandmother passed away in 2009 but this past year my uncle started seeds from her magnolia and gave them as gifts to all the grandchildren. I’m waiting for spring to plant mine outside.

Always exciting when those plant trucks start rolling in. Unloading is hard work but I love it.
