Oh my goodness what a splendid and spectacular tour Elyssa. Ir really shows you the magnificence of the construction, and another awesome thing to do in Florence again you are second to none. It is wonderful to see and hear your delight in seeing this wonderful sight for the first time Thank you so much.
Hi Peter! I am SO glad you enjoyed this tour - I thought it was amazing! Yes, it's extremely special to be able to see the construction of this basilica up close. I always appreciate your kind comments and enthusiastic support!
wow wow wow! tears of joy! i have climbed to the top of the cupola 3 times. the most recent was in 2022 after having read Ross King's Brunelleschi's Dome 2 times before arriving in Firenze. it definitely helped me appreciate what i was experiencing on a much deeper level. that terrace walk is amazing! so close to the stonework of the rose window! do you know why there were terracotta pots along the base of the upper walls? Mille grazie for another stunning video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed my video! And glad you also got to read Ross King's excellent book. It's so engaging and fascinating! I am not sure why the terracotta pots are up there, but one person suggested it was to collect water, although I am not sure about that. Thanks again for watching my video!
So glad that I found your Rome & Florence channels! My husband and I are doing a bucket list trip to Italy in October and I booked this tour because of this video - very much looking forward to it! Thank you so much for sharing it 😊

Giorgio Vasari, try as he may be.....Or have been, 😂Made a meal of the cupola. Labored extra hard to imitate the inimitable, his hero, Michelangelo, produced a series of cartoons not even that good to be used on weekly basis in the Sun news paper! 🙃
He had a pretty difficult, actually impossible task to try to live up to Michelangelo - who could? But he did his best and sometimes, it was quite good!
I'm also somewhat claustrophobic and I did it. I shared what it looked like so hopefully you can judge for yourself if you think you can do it. It's not really narrow per se, but it's a long climb with over 400 steps. I never once felt claustrophobic, just a bit tired!
It was just two weeks ago. There is not a lot of scaffolding but some, and it's likely to be there a while as they move around the dome. It's still amazing!
Yes it's max 15 people. I was surprised at the price of under 200€ - the Vatican Key Master tour is about 3x that price so I thought that for all we got to do, this was a pretty good price.

I need to came back and get this tour that you just did. AMAIZEN 🙏🙏I'm following your channel . Thank You . I feel better know that I see at list for my house at the computer 😍.
