Final assembly of the moon phase clock, fitting the new 72 tooth wheel, arbour and click spring. Of course it didn't quite go to plan, watch to the end to see the problem and how I solved it.
Let me know in the comments if you like the detail, or would rather a more top level approach, I am happy to do both if you let me know!

Thank you so much! Been looking for a video showcasing a full strip down and service for ages! This trade is steeped in secrecy. I might try my luck on a simple single train fusee movement first. Learnt to silver and wax my dials so the next natural progression is the movement. Anyway keep it up! 29 Yr old subscriber! It's a dying trade and videos like this are help keeping it alive. All best Laurence. Norwich.

Thank you, I hope the video was helpful. You will find there is a lot to learn, but with patience and some good guidence from You Tube ( I fully recommend How to repair Pendulum Clocks) it will keep it interesting! I started my journey with a single train clock, and I'd suggest you start with one without a fusee as they are much cheaper to purchase.

Hi David ,A very enjoyable video however, It would have been interesting to see how you set up the warning, strike and minute wheel and gathering pallet, maybe you could go through these steps in your next video or a video dedicated to this.

Thanks for your comments. I always recommend taking plenty of before photos, but you have a good point. My next videos will show the stripping down of a 30 hour striking grandfather clock, and I will go into a bit more detail of how the striking mechanism works.

What is the solution that you aply whit the brush ??

I brush dirty mechanisms first with a diluted ultrasonic cleaner for jewelry solution and then finish with a final brushing of Isopropyl Alcohol. I dry the parts in a malzorb drying media.
