Another significant "So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, 'Let me go, for it is daybreak.' But Jacob replied, 'I will not let you go unless you bless me.'**" Meaning: This passage symbolizes Jacob's intense spiritual struggle. He wrestles with the "man" (understood by many as either an angel or a manifestation of God), representing his inner turmoil and desire for God's blessing. The act of wrestling signifies persistence, determination, and seeking divine favor. Jacob’s wrestling led to a transformative experience, as his name was changed to **Israel**, meaning "he who struggles with God," reflecting both the physical and spiritual struggle.
Fun interview Spencer - thanks. I think you have some of the best technique breakdowns on the internet ... big thanks from a Jiu Jitsu coach from Downunder ...
He's ate crow twice ones at the NCAA and once at the Olympics. But 2028 LA Olympics will be his comeback year just think the Olympics will be in the USA 🇺🇸 and it will make up for all the losses and bad luck He's had.
Don’t forget high school, too. Spenser’s the definition of resilience. Can’t wait to see how great his next chapter will be if his past is any indicator.
Yeah Spencer, tell us how much you had to lose night before the finals. I used to drop a lot of weight too when I wrestled. Came back from X-mas break once close to 130 & I was a 108 pounder. I know stupid. At times, No self control. To this day one of the worst weeks of my life!! (having to make 108 that week)
And these wrestlers these days don’t use moves from the seventies that still would work moves that Dave Shultz did to counter single legs no one uses it like are wrestlers blind these days
