I haven't played with Signature Buildings nearly as much as I should have, so tonight we're going to try to unlock a whole bunch of them... live! We'll continue building on PoplarPonderosa's Victoria, Canada map, adding all of the assets!

I hope Collosal Order addresses the crazy requirements for signature buildings soon, theye're so unrealistic. My oldest city is over 200k citizens, I can barely play in it anymore because it's running so slow, but I still have unlocked maybe a fourth of all the signature buildings. That just doesn't add up. I feel like at the stage of about 150k citizens everything should be unlocked already.

@@jrw0707 if you are in a budget make sure you don’t buy something like 4060 8gb💀 you need 12gb of vram.

@@mrgooglethegreat I'm calling cap... my game has been significantly slowed in terms of simulation-speed on a 7p50x3d and a 4090 woth 64gb ddr5 ram. Given, that was about 2 months ago but I don't see any updates that would justify such a massive difference. Sure, fps may be fine but not the actual simulation-speed

@@AethryPixel my game is still playable. I'm at 850k now. It studders but not enough to quell my gameplay. If yours is worse that sucks for you buddy. My computer is fresh outta the box with nothing but this game on it so that may be the difference.

3:01:01 I found that when you have a high demand for schools and you want to place a school into a specific district it is beneficial to pause the game, place the school and assign it to the district, then resuming the game. Because if you place the school without it, it will fulfil demand from all over your region immediately after it has been placed and will only prioritise the demand from the associated district after the initial batch of students has graduated.

Good advice! You also can "fix" this if the school is full. Just close the school. They will eject the students. Give it a district and reopen it

I wonder why scenarios/citizen reactions to development plans/local politics can’t just be a selectable option on each new build. Just like I can choose if I wanna deal with the financial reality of building a city, I think it’s reasonable to have an opinion to include the sociopolitical reality of building a city as well. Assuming that they aren’t already planning to incorporate more of those aspects over time or in a future DLC

Two things I would love to see from mods is some kind of military installation. And also Spider-Man swinging across the city as a quick response to deal with criminal activity. Apart from that and the whole console thing, I would definitely be happier.

I know this might be late. At 2:35:27 someone said if you change the map tiles, the game crashes. This can be fixed by only editing the edge tiles first. Leave the base 9 tiles, that the game chooses for you when you load a map, alone. After you have your first custom map tile crated. Save your work. Then go to MAP and click on Select Starting Map Tiles. Select that first custom tile. Then don't touch that tile as much as you can help it. From then on, only remove 1-5 tiles at a time and then put in the custom shaped tile. I found the best way to do this is pick a starting point like the south west corner. Remove one node, it will make 4 90 degree triangles. The one right at the corner will be the tile I reshape. I will move the selection nodes to fill in the gap. Then I will remove the next node, and repeat the process. Keep doing this until you are done. PLEASE NOTE: Each tile has to match the tiles it touches node for node. Otherwise you will get a game error when it is loading into the game. If you see the dotted lines any where but at the edge of the map, then you have missed a node or the nodes need to be redone. Also it is a good idea to save your map every 5 to 10 edits and to have multiple saves while you make the custom tiles. The game does not like the tiles being changed.

Still playing Skyline OG, not ready to make the jump, the game just doesnt seem baked yet and it seems very demanding at CPU level, what are people using to run CS2?

Of course there will be more entertainment stuff coming, i want concert shows, festival stuff, food truck parks, and for those things we need invisible road parking on grass to justy as in real life open up farmland for parking etc. Also for camping spots, i LOVED a bunch of different camping things for CS1, simple camping, glamping, Porta-potties, but it sucks to then have a small country road and suddenly have perfect flat asphalt parking there. I also love beach content, kiosks, beach bars, floatie retail and renting points, but just on the beach, and invisible pathing to beach lounge chairs etc. Also cannot wait for more road layouts, meaning lines, how traffic lights and signs look, i tend to build my own country as if it was suddenly a sunny or tropical land, like Spain, Cuba, Hawaii etc. but with the traffic stuff i know, also public trahs containers etc. i loved that about CS1 mods, there weas so much, i just hope CS2 will get the same. I do also feel, althogh they are no doubt working hard on everything, that they would add a lot into the base game with updates, hell, if some content creators have good stuff, just add it into the game, it really should happen more.

Man... that was a ride :) I do hope you are able to get that main road (which the BRT also runs on) connected at the city entrance again in the next stream. It got disconnected when you deleted the diverging diamont :) And I guess then you can also fix the cars driving over the sidewalks, behind the city hall, which you found at the end of the previous stream :)

Well, lactose intolerance is dominant amongst people of Chinese or African descent, which is a pretty big proportion of the global population. I can chug milk like a baby piglet without any issue fortunately.

@@TheRealEtaoinShrdlu Source of the following is me probably mixing it up so take it with a grain of salt. I think mutation for lactose tolerance as an adult originated in Europe. So I guess anyone of European origin is least likely to be lactose intolerant. I think people from the Middle East, North Africa or South Asia are semi and I guess outside of the ‘old’ world (like origin from sub Saharan or Americas or East Asian or Oceania are most likely to be intolerant

@@Ro99from what I've read, basically humans are genetically programmed to stop producing the enzyme that is needed to digest milk at around 4 years old so toddlers stop drinking mom's milk and make way for her next baby. But those populations that developed a reliance on cows for food became adapted to being able to keep on drinking milk, and that was mainly in Europe (less in Mediterranean countries) but also, very specifically, the Maasai in Africa who were also historically cowherders. Maybe it also occurs in other historical cowherding cultures, but I only read this about those two sources of lactose tolerance genes.

2:02:00 I´m don´t like using pedestiran bridges inside the city over the roads too. But in my mass transit hubs I need them in 3-4 block radius, due to number of pedestrians walking there

I feel that density and building massing / size / heights are all over the place / are not realistic / properly scalled. Most large real cities in Europe, such as London, Paris, Barcelona etc have building between 5 and 9 stories high but CS2 building are either mostly single and then jump up to 10 to 15 stories for medium density and are so ugly! So, so ugly!!! We need more nice 5 to 9 story assest to get city density looking correct.

For a "City Skylines with politics" maybe look into Urban Empire. I believe the game had a lot of potential ... but it never got continued or anything ... So it kinda lacks content and replayablity. Also it sometimes does a bad job at explaining things to you. But it is a fresh take and does play nicely if you ask me. And it´s major thing is to combine Politics and city building.
