Attention young drummers, I'm 44 and only started using this type of practice about 8 years ago. Take my advice and start learning and applying this material and you'll be unstoppable and highly sought-after for bands of all kinds. Practice it every single day, at least on pad, if not both pad and kit. Start slow. Don't give up. Listen to Noah and other pros, and you'll go far! Edit: It's a fact that the "Duh Duh Puh" changed my life. It's my best friend on drums!

I'm not well-versed in hybrid rudiments, so I don't know which is correct, but the way you played the Cheese is different from what was notated. Based on the way it was notated, the double should've been on the second note of the triplet, not the first, which would've made it sound just like a flam drag. The sticking appeared to be completely different as well.
I was waiting for someone to call me out on that! I notated it wrong and somehow never caught it on all my editing rewatches. The correct cheese is how I played and explained it.
Funny story, its actually a cheap Mapex piccolo snare with a 17 year old kevlar marching snare head. It was just still on my kit from a recording I did before shooting this video. Strange how cool it sounds
I wish more ppl talked about the actual execution of grip, and the way the stock moves in your hand.ive been playing twenty years, but always just kinda did the rock,lars ulrich thing which is playing from the wrist. Im still trying to understand the double stroke, as i can do it, but you see ppl doing it on their pants leg and super clean. So its always said its not about the rebound.you can use it, but dont rely on it. Than others kinda show how its coming from the fingers, but that always seems to be at very slow speeds and once it picks up, it seemingly,is more about the wrist.yet theyllnsay theyre not using wrist at all. Its really something that just bugs me,and i dont know any drummers and ive never had a real lesson
