WOW, the woman is the smartest communicator of complex ideas and issues, it's comforting to see that there's still people in government who recognize talent when they see it, and people like Lina who are willing to step into the breach and serve in a thankless and lower paying job than she would be able to snag in the private sector. She's invaluable to the country.
I’ve been active on RU-vid for 13 years and never felt compelled to comment on a single video. But a video with Chair Khan warrants my first ever comment. Attracting people like this young woman is what the framers of our modern democracy had in mind when they designed government institutions. Sharp intellect, acts fearlessly for the public good, morally incorruptible, compelling mission, dedicated, consistent and operating with a philosophical frame that is grounded in truth and data. You have to be a truly blinded ideologue to hate her work! In a world driven by the cynical worship of money, Lina is a rare shinning light. It gives me hope that the next generation of leaders may not all be lost in the sea of bullshit culture wars. Some young people can see clearly and refuse to act against their own interest in service of the corporate oligarchs
She is the exception to the rule that most highly intelligent, highly driven people are amoral and therefore in the private sector making absolute bank. Sad but true.
This is a great one to comment on, and I couldn't agree more with your point of view. She's SHOCKINGLY good at what she does. I think there are many other "almost as good" public servants out there keeping things on an even keel in spite of an increasingly complex world and in spite of having much of Congress taken over by a cult of personality. Hoping to see more of your comments!!
The founder's heads would explode if you told them that a non white woman would be in a position of power. Other than that, I completely agree with your comment.
Lina Khan is a national treasure; old money and new money is afraid of her because she’s bring balance to this crazy country. From making inhalers to going after price gouging this woman needs to get the medal of freedom 🙌🏾
I don’t know if it’s her or the fact I’m turning 40 this year but Lina Khan is the first time I’ve been this enthusiastic about a bureaucratic government administrator. I haven’t seen the government make this many pro-competitive, pro-consumer moves in a long time.
Agreed. It's almost odd how she's allowed to do this without being culled. I'm assuming they failed at trying to buying her allegiance. Real regulators are like her-cutting the chaff by outing bums and crooks. Now, if we had someone as effective as her to work internally and whip the bureaucracy into shape (and out of corruption), we might have the best of both worlds.
Lina Khan and her team are the best. Our economy has been captured and rent-seeked to death. To make up for the last 50 years, we will need decades of leadership like hers to rebalance the whole system.
Would love to have her as Chair for another 8 years. The work her and her team are doing at the FTC is so great for US innovation long term, as well as overall market health, and consumer protections.
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my whole life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear that you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small Investment, thank you Jihan Wu you're such a life saver
As a beginner in this, it’s essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Jihan Wu is also my trade analyst, he has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessments, ensuring my trades decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns.
I'm favoured, 90K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America,, all thanks to this same Jihan Wu.
OK, the bad tiger in jungle book was Sher Khan, which is what makes the name sound so badass. The Khan in the Star Trek movies was Ricardo Montauban (yes, Mr Rourke from Fantasy Island), not Fernando Lamas.
Lina Khan is good for business. She is just not good for those who wish to crush market dynamics and squeeze consumers. Splitting up large tech companies would create competitive value and ultimately improve the economy.
Gavin Nusom is pulling an Adams: getting paid to have an opinion which he's grateful just to have someone tell him which side to be on. "new model" means completely new main trunc, not a branch or derivative but when key is when you come up with a new name or prefix, where its described as "a novel architecture" or "completely redesigned" in the documentation... If it has different charts, layers, cost functions, if it's a different type like LSTM instead of SVM.. You can leave the model definition vague, at some point it's pretty clear to show whether it's completely different under the same name or if it's the same model iterated on for 10 years. This isn't something that changes frequently, it takes a lot of math and commits to explore one model.
I think we need a very vocal retraction next week to quell the growing Fernando Lamas/Ricardo Montalban controversy that is absolutely shutting down Twitter ATM...
Inflation happened because of the huge expansion of the monetary base. Everything else is secular and not material in the discussion on inflation. The CPI lags the monetary base perfectly in this inflation cycle. Rates didn't control inflation by itself, it was the monetary base anchor that did most of the heavy lifting.
@@jannichi6431 I think you missed my point, the airlines like so many other companies have so many common shareholders that they don’t engage in price competition anymore airlines case that would’ve been fair wars I don’t think I’ve seen one of those in 20 years. and how does the FTC deal with the fact that some companies have common minority but still large stake shareholders who can strain competition in the name of profit?
The break-up of AT&T forced them to build out a fiber network to compete with Sprint doing so at the same time. There wouldn't have been long distance price competition if that had not happened.
If getting self righteous podscaster's gangster designation is commendable with a lazy idealistic approach simply opposing all M&A activity Lina is the perfect FTC chair. Not a single insightful comment other than corporations bad, consumers good. Wasted time I will never get back
Any move from FTC this century on food, healthcare and telecom to break up (!!!) the monopolies that cost consumers double digit percentage of their income every month? or is Google still the most monopolistic company in US that offers consumers its products for FREE ?
Success is not built on success. It's built on failure, It's built on frustration. it's built on fear that you have to overcome. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in Life
Is this old? AI is fool’s gold. Stop listening to CEOs and discuss with software engineers. AI is improving but its capabilities are so overblown. Why are you pushing investing in AI as if AI would being fool’s gold will crash the whole market. Just throwing good money after bad.
I thought the recall on Newsom was trash at the moment too, now I wish I voted to recall him. He’s gotta go. California is becoming pro business again to some degree but I’m sick of this regime. And I don’t have anything against Lina Khan as a person, but I’m vehemently against people going straight from academia to being the head of the FTC who have zero industry experience. She’s all theory and it doesn’t work imo. She focuses on all the wrong things IMO.
Thinking that the repeated recall attempts weren’t trash and Lena Khan isn’t addressing a serious anti-trust issue that we addressed over a century ago is actual brain rot. 😂
@@nicfirebear what has she actually addressed though? She’s lost every law suit and effectively just froze the M&A market. Doing things implies outcomes were achieved. Now she’s likely about to be out of a job regardless of the admin because she was awesome at it?
@@nicfirebear and I am saying the recall attempts were trash…..there weren’t any good alternative candidates which is really where they fucked up in my opinion because i was open to voting for someone else but the files looked like a clown car.
@@LuisCContreras More about things she isn't focusing on bc she's too weak; health care costs are 90% higher than real costs, Meta is lying incessantly about privacy while profiting billions off of every person addicted to theit shit, Apple is purposely making batteries that lose half their strength within a year leading to eccesive swap outs or better yet, purchasing of the latest 2% improved pos iPhone. Many other items to rail on about.
15:50 wtf? I don’t get the constant attempts to be risky or prove “we don’t give af” ….its corny & not funny or clever. It’s only 1 minute if a show but it’s so strange. & it’s every show. You can tell the Brit doesn’t like it but laughs because that’s his boss.
What has she achieved? An exodus of colleagues? Lost arguments in court? An inflated response to a single "academic" paper on the evils of Amazon? LMAO.
