A tumor could very well be pushing and damaging the part of his brain that makes decisions and thoughts that could be impairing him when it comes to this, so yes and no. If that is the case, then that is basically what's happening, but if he has a tumor that isn't doing that, then he has no reason to use that as an excuse.
