Why was selectedvalue() function not working in the first approach? Can some one explain

Selected value will not work in table view and we can not create a calculated columns as well because it will work based on the user selection in the power view by creating measures only

i have question, he created calculated table based on dim customer, And he used gender to filter data from dim customer , later on he created measure in sales table, and he filtered data from dim customer gender ok, what was the point of creating separate calculated table ? and how creating calculated table based on selectedValue achieved here?

One reason might be SELECTEDVALUE function read the current filter context, not the row context.

Help!? I have a slicer just like this that returns the selected value when used alone. But I don't understand why selectedvalue returns a single value if I use it in a measure like value = selectedvalue(slicertable[column]), but i can't use it in a measure like calculate([measure], column=selectedvalue(slicertable[column]). Can anyone explain why selected value is returning more than one value and how to prevent that?

Try this… SelectedProductCategories = VAR SelectedValues = VALUES(Sales[ProductCategory]) -- Get all selected values from the ProductCategory column RETURN CONCATENATEX( SelectedValues, Sales[ProductCategory], ", " )

I think you were supposed to tell how to create table based on different filter conditions? creating measures and card is easier, real challenge is to create tables.

You have a very nice video format, but please - just try to speak slower. It's a common problem with many trainers, that you just speed through, instead of taking your time to allow people to absorb what you are really saying.
