Today we're going to show how to carefully unmask the car after a fresh paint job then we're going to apply some red pinstripe along the two tone edge 🔥 www.hiltzautoco.com #badchad #hiltzautoco #automobilerepairshops
You can see Jolene perfectly in he paint as she moves down the side of the car, can't ask for better than that without a cut and polish. Nice job Chad !
Bro we’re the hell were you at when I was painting my cars 30 years ago ? Man you cleared up a lot of myths I used to go by !!! Keep up the great content, and you are teaching a lot of ages out here !!
You rocked that single stage!!!! Holy shit!!! Like glass. Not perfect but damn near perfect especially for all the "no, no's" you committed. Came out better than 99% of shops with 3 or 4 stages. Extremely well done. Super impressed!!
Been painting my own cars for years and I still learn something in all your videos,. Love the metal work and am amazed at how quick you you busy these out ..
I watch this video when it came out. It was one of the first ones I watched and haven’t missed one since really admire this guy for his work and talent and also the camera work from Jolene. Great job.
Going to the questions with the lie detection test..haters will always hate. A $39.00 spray with you give you amazing results, it's all about prep work and having the right pressure with a clean tip. Keep doing your thing Chad, you are making me more and more confident in body work and customization everyday.
Really nice job Chad, what a beautiful outcome, personally if you want to knock Chad for showing people how to do restoration projects and how to repair various issues that often present themselves along the way when modifying or restoring a car including painting one then maybe this is not the channel for you. Unless your comments are constructive and we all can learn from your posts. I find Chad’s sincerity/ honesty and transparency really refreshing, I personally have had friends ripped off by so called restoration specialists and classic car painters, at least Chad is totally upfront with everyone on his channel, Chad I hope you keep going with the segments and your channel, A big thanks to jolene for all the time you are putting into the editing and production of these incredibly informative as well as entertaining videos. BIG THANKS
He paints with higher pressure because it lays out a lot flatter. Low pressure causes a lot of orange peel. They say to spray them guns at 35psi but Chad cranks it up to I'd guess 60psi. The gun is a princess auto gun $39.99. Harbor Freight same thing. 😉
With the higher pressure you just need experience and keep that gun moving fast or else your paint will run on the floor if you don't know what you're doing.
I'm sure this is the best paint job I've ever seen. I'll be talking about this for years to come. It's flawless from what I see. I still can't believe I watched it happen.
I was taught most of if not all things you provide to work were true until I watched you show us the best and fastest way to body work to a remarkable finish I'll never do body work like I've been doing for the last 20+ year !!
From one painter to another, do what works for you and don’t listen to what should be done. There are too many people that have a lot to say and I’m sure 90% of them don’t even have a clue. Keep up the good work my man!
I am so grateful to have the chance to watch you work. Your common sense solution s has been a learning experience. I realize you are mindful of doing this for public consumption, but I wish I could learn to deal with frustration the way you do.
Well, I must say, if you've been around this channel for very long at all you will discover that Chad is not a liar. He speaks the truth whether you like it or not that is what he tries his best to do. Great Job Chad..you and Jolene did a fantastic job on Doug's car I 'm sure he's going to be very pleased with your work.
Finally someone that preps cars as I do and comes out with bitchen results!!! Have been doing the same procedure since I started in 1974 at the age of 16, at the age of 19 I was restoring classic Jags, Ferraries, Porsche etc. and made lots of money doing so. Keep it going Bad Chad!
Alway's has to be that one guy. So he sais he has painting for 43 years. That would put him easily in his 60's or 70's. I am thinking maybe he has bumps & nibs in his bifocals. 🤣
@@fastcarsfreedom7282 i am 65 did it for a living &had my own shop at home &also produced no 1 winning show cars and i dont have bumps&nibs in my bi focals put that in your pipe and smoke it
Yea the texture is good, it laid out flat. Nason sprays out nice. I've painted a few hundred cars with it. Can't see flaws? Lol. The deck lid especially is full of dirt, maybe come fish eye. Looks like a lot of specks in the finish. Most folks who don't paint cars will think it's great.
These series of videos are exactly what I was looking for to paint a car with single stage paint. The secret is clearly to raise the pressure to the gun and move more quickly to avoid orange peel and/or runs. Beautifully done, thank you.
Great event ! Your videos over the last six months has inspired me to move quickly with the preservation/ resto of my 1957 Willys Truck. I have literally used all my resources to acquire materials free! with exception of the Paint/primers/filler THANK YOU for your inspirational Videos !
Beautiful finish with a cheap gun! Thanks for the tips and walk through as you did it, helped me realize some mistakes I made before and things I can do differently when I go to paint my ‘38. Keep up the videos!
I have to compliment you Sir! It's beautiful. You've changed my whole perspective. I went and got some single stage, clear hardner, and I'm going to try to go up in my pressures. Im not able to spend the money some others do. I have one shot, and if I screw up im waiting till I make enough to replace product lol. But you've really inspired me to try new things. Again, thank you guys!
Amazing how Chad's way seems to always work. Guess that is what experience brings. There are some very constructive post with tips. They enhance the lessons Chad is presenting. Love this channel.
Then you havent seen an average paint job hahaha. I hate talking shit, but videos like this only encourage shit work ethics and shit results. That car might look nice after a week of wet sanding and polishing but you can literally see tons of dirt in the paint. If this is the best paint job youve ever seen...broaden your viewing experience.
Top tip for the pin strips Chad put a spot of clear nail polish 💅 on the end bits were you cut them it helps to stop them pealing off in damp weather my dad showed me this tip over 30 years ago 😎🤙🇬🇧
In my 20s to 40s I painted 100’s of cars, loved it, self taught, trial and error, used a local cheap car lot sales guy, to let me practice on his junk, he paid for paint, and some cash, I painted literally ever car on the lot, splash jobs, but man did I have fun, making silk purses.... the sense of accomplishment was great. I loved every minute of it! Way to go chad! I posted early on RU-vid an isuzu trooper before and after.
The only bad thing I can say your paint looks to good to hang out with that silver. Keep up the good work. You have motivated me to get back in my shop
Love your channel. Inspiring me to do my own work. Thanks to both of you for the hard work, wisdom and honesty. Ignore the trolls and negative people. Do your own thing and be happy.
Hey Chad looks nice, ever notice that ppl with the same name work in similar areas for work (play) . We share the same name and both work (ed) in the same feild. I use to work many years ago for a guy use to bring me the craziest stuff to rebuild fix and modify ( and bring back from the dead) I watch how you prep think more ppl in the feild should watch you. It reminds me of how dry wall is done not auto body. How ingenious, hats off. In general appears to be faster less labor intensive with over all superior results. Just f'ng amazing thanks for sharing your technics.
That's is and Awesome Black paint job. Doug's gone a have a smile a mile wide when he see this Paint Job. I've learned so much from watching Jolene & you Doug....Thank You for share your Work...
That paint job is great it has a miror glass shine great job Chad and Jolene it looks fantastic and I agree Chad when Jolene was going around the car filming the black paint looked chrome it wowed me. I respect your honesty and for keeping it real .
This was such a relaxing video to watch....I really enjoyed it , what a talent you are Chad , mirror finish paint job with no orange peel and no need to buff then pin striping with first attempt.. true craftsmanship.
What a nice job Chad! It looks like the paint could slide off the car at any second, wow! Why anyone would doubt your skills and techniques is beyond me.......
Great instruction Professor...Excellent camera work. Your paint finishes are exceptional. Artists come up with their own best ways to work. Rules are made to be broken in the Arts.
Beautiful mirror finish paint job and 2 tone with pinstripe looks awesome. The color scheme reminds me so much of Dale Earnhardt's #3 Goodwrench race car. A job well done Chad. You have every right to be proud of it.😁👍
Very nice job Chad! This man has more common sense than most folks do. Taking the tape off is the most fun part of the job. Like the way he uses cheaper materials and products, but still comes out with a nice looking job. They way he explains things makes it nice, so anyone with a bit of talent can do the same thing he is. Makes me want to go out and paint my car. I used to do paint jobs when I was in HS Charged $50 per car plus materials, and painted a dozen or so in my Dad's backyard with a crappy old compressor from the 50's, a $5 paint gun, no mask. Some were nice, a few not as nice. Keep up the good work Chad and Jolene! Are you guys going to do a TV show? Wouldn't that be sweet!
Awesome work! When you talked about touching the car to feel dirt and texture, IF you want to also keep it cleaner, put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag like a ziplock bag. It actually amplifies the dirt and texture and you'll feel EVERYTHING! I do wet sanding and polishing and do this a lot to feel the surface before I start polishing one out, or as I go along. It's a good trick! Love your channel!
Not only a very well done beautiful job that is my favorite color combination. After you clean everything I have been told that static electricity will attract dust. Running a ground strap to the car and a ground rod or water pipe will help. Also, the humidity will reduce static. Wash down the floor and leave the water helps. Thank you for sharing your great work and tips.
