13:25 hats of the costume designer, she did an outstanding job that deserved more recognition than just a nomination at BAFTAS. I'm the opposite of a fashion guy, but even in this star-studded, explosion filled action spectacle, I was like holy shit those costumes are fuckin stylish
This is one of those stories that have no specific time and place. The concept can apply to any story. I loved the concept of training, maturity and inner growth. If there was any 'passing the torch' moment in Cinema, then this one is it.
A lot of dedication and love went into this movie and you can really see it, every single time I watch it I discover a new interesting detail, everything from the music to the acting is carefully crafted and the end result is simply amazing. My favorite movie of all time for sure.
Bruce Wayne was partly inspired, by his later Batman persona, from watching "The Mark Of Zorro" starring Tyrone Power. This was the film, young Bruce watched, right before the murder of his parents in Crime Alley. Personally, although I do find 1940s' "The Mark Of Zorro" to be an enduring classic, and deservingly so, I have to say that "The Mask Of Zorro" is the definitive, and greatest, Zorro film of them all. And Antonio Banderas was born to play him.
Yeah Zorro a true revolutionary fox one of the main inspirations of Batman with the sword fighting, dagger fighting, whip fighting, black costume, black mask, black gloves, black capes, black cowls, and being a wealthy noble person as a secret identity
This movie is a MASTERPIECE .The most timeless motion picture for all ages. Perfect from all aspects. From the performances of the actors, the plot to the impressive scenery and choreography. The atmosphere is perfect, neither unnaturally comic nor too dramatic. They depict very nicely the relationship between mentor and student, flirting, relationship between siblings, father and daughter, etc. Its flow is very nice, you watch it with great interest. It is my favorite movie, I don't know if it was shown😅
The "I'll be damned" moment was when I found out Guy Williams wasn't of Spanish or Mexican heritage. I was always of the understanding he was for many years. Armando Joseph Catalano, he was Italian! Nonetheless, along with all the other legendary actors who played Zorro, he was one of the best.
@@SkippyDipper Scottish is British, as for Hopkins, he has an specific British accent, Welsh accent. Is Seward Wilson (Rafael Montero) and Catherine z Jones the ones who has RP British accent.
Still a satisfying, old-school swashbuckler after 25 years along the likes of Errol Flynn, the Lone Ranger, and Robin Hood The beloved Pulp Comics creation of 1919 and black-and-white tv series of the 1950s makes its way to the big screen by director Martin Campbell A beautiful cast from Antonio Banderas to Anthony Hopkins to Catherine Zeta-Jones The man who successfully brought back James Bond in 'Goldeneye' and 'Casino Royale' (2006) brings the masked freedom fighter for a new era One of the rare films using real stunts and action to serve the story being one of the few remaining Westerns to do so The actors are charismatic, the romance is wonderfully executed, the action is thrilling, the score is beautiful by James Horner, and it helps bring the character back in a new light with honor, discipline, loyalty The tale centers around generations; what myths and legends mean when they’re gone and the price invaders pay when they underestimate the populace themselves Is heroism a romantic illusion? Yes it might lack substance and some of the casting isn’t exactly politically correct but the entertainment value remains having an edge ‘Mask of Zorro’ still works on so many levels
I love this movie soooo much. When I was kid I was a little Irish boy walking around the house with a plastic sword a black tea towel with eye wholes cut out and a black towel pinned across my chest pretending I was Zorro. It's a masterpiece driving old swashbuckling still has a place even now, when it's done right. I worry now Zorro would be used to much as a political device and scenes like the famous duel strip would receive too much backlash. That being said I'm tired of all the PC stuff, now I'd love to see ana amazing Latino cast brought together to bring Zorro back again or continuation of Antonio handing down the mask and cape to a new Zorro. I think this movie was batman begins before batman begins but didn't forget to have fun with it's premise, I would love to see someone do this again because I really believe it could work.
I realy like this movie sir anthony hopkins antonio banderas cathrine zeta jones the movie realy has a good story line (heroes rise heroes fall rise again through it all❤

The mask of Zorro is my favorite zero film, or Contant of all time. Now that they have announced a new TV show, I couldn’t be happier. My only problem with the mask of Zorro movie is the lack of actual Mexicans as the cast. Otherwise it’s a phenomenal movie
I remember meeting Antonio Banderras and seeing how light white skinned he was I found out he has darkened his skin for most of his films. Only in America could two white men and a white woman play famous brown people and get a way with it.
Yeah but at least Antonio is Spanish, unlike Catherine and Anthony Hopkins who are literally from wales haha 😂 also Zorro is Spaniard who happens to be white so.. I don’t see what the problem is, not everyone who speaks Spanish is tan, especially the Spaniards, so there really is no inaccuracy with that 😅
