Yeah, it was a great series because the Sixers play dumb, gutless basketball when it matters most. They've been doing it for almost ten years now. The Knicks are losing to Indiana because Indiana will actually play hard the whole game, rather than sometimes. The Sixers are the best opponent for a scrappy team that plays hard because they will never ever match that team's intensity an entire game, let alone an entire series. The fact that the Knicks never were able to blow them out is a testament to how much more talent the Sixers have. If the Sixers fell behind by 20 to Boston, Indiana, or pretty much anyone else in the east, they're getting ran out the building. Talent without guts is pretty useless.

basketball is a flawed game that always comes down to the end no matter what happens during the game. I really got to love this team and thought this was def one of our best teams over the last 5 years and we still couldnt get it done. I dont know what it will take for this team to get over the hump.

They aren't. They don't have the guts. You have to run through walls, and their best player is not interested in running through walls. It's why the Knicks, a much less talented team, was able to beat them in six. It's why the Hawks, an even less talented team, was able to beat them in 7. It's not the coach. It's not Morey. The ship sank the minute they didn't hire a real GM eight years ago and hire a coach who was going to build some toughness into a young Embiid. It's over. This is as good as they will ever be.

Maxey “paying his dues” with nba officials. This was going to be a transitional year with the Harden extraction needing to happen, Joels knee and Melton/Cov flatlining made deep advancement in longshot, and props to Knicks for figuring it out with addition by subtraction of Randle.

The Sixers should work on building bench players. If they do this could be very deadly. A few games losing few points means nothing. If bench players can defend shoot three's effectively under pressure and block shoots and passes then we got something. Those bench players could have contributed 36 points from 2nd quarter to the 4th quarter. This would have completely changed the series could be the Sixers 4-2 against New York.

Stop with this. There are no magic bullets. The magic bullet was not making dumb decisions for ten years. You cannot be a dumpster fire for ten years and then magically be a contender. Embiid is the issue. He doesn't have that dog in him. He shrinks in the biggest moments. And he will not work on his conditioning in the offseason. Anyone who doesn't see that the Sixers are about a year from blowing this up is kidding themselves. Butler was the dog they needed, and they sent him away for Harris. This tells you everything you need to know about the commitment this franchise has to winning.

Maxey is a fantastic shooting guard but at this point in his career he is not a primary ball handling point guard. He takes over a game when he shuts off his brain and moves on instinct, when he’s running the offense and calling plays he overthinks things and it leads to turnovers and blown up plays. The Sixers need to unburden Maxey by picking up a traditional point guard. If this team had Marcus Smart they win the series.

I think the sixers are right there, for once all the pieces are there and we showed glimpses, I think we have a steady look to the future with nurse Maxey and embiid leading the charge, Nurse obviously knows what he needs to do. I believe the Embiid MVP push is over and this man needs to get a ring, even if it means playing 40 games in the regular season. Players, and we all know who, are going to be gone but I hope we keep most, push for oubre back, Payne, I don't think we let Ricky council go, batum is huge defensively, push for hield but definitely don't pay him.

Phillyd front office needs to upgrade the supporting cast. The front pffice failed! Nick nurse did the best he could with the personnel he had. Managing egos in the locker room and keeping everyonec on the same page and engaged is not an easy task. No coach can affod to lose the locker room in the nba. The front office is to blame for not getting rid of Tobias harris and putting better complementary players around embid and maxey. This is not on nick nurse.

1 They need a REAL power forward 6”10 or better. 2 They need a REAL point guard that’s big cause Maxey is a twiner at 6”2 playing SG . They need someone like Spencer Dinwiddie at 6”6 but better. 3 I think they need a top flight 2 Guard 6”6 or taller someone like Paul George . Lastly Tobias is not the answer as your starting forward he’s also another twiner.
