I feel like there’s so much truth here; we’re “searching” - “in need” - but we don’t stop long enough to realize it. Praying quiets our minds and hearts, we can’t hear what God is saying if we don’t slow down, quiet down. ❤

I didn't grow up with a grandma, aunts, nor a present mother. I never got any advice from an women that I had a strong relationship with. Now that I'm older I try to build strong relationships with people around me and pass down wisdom because I so desperately crave it. I've always felt the desire to sit and hear all the wisdom from experienced women. I believe these chats are fulfilling those desires. So thank you so much ladies! Pride masquerades as other more 'socially acceptable" things ... perfectionism (should have done that better), impatience (gotta hurry cuz i cant be late), & disappointment (its not supposed to turn out this way), worry (have to achieve/win/succeed cuz it reflects my worth)
I find a few strange things within Christianity. Natural revelation, scientific errors in Genesis, Eve coming from Adam's rib, God talking to people (but not in modern times), thousands of years, holy spirt or holy ghost, and a few other things I can't remember at the moment. Now, I find there is a thing called "identity in Christ" which I have some issues with. There is no such thing as _identity_ in Christ. It is a twisting of the meaning of words. Identity is who you are. You cannot identify as (or in) another being, and that includes Christ. I believe more correct terms can include: aligning with Christ, following Christ. Does this mean giving up your own identity or individuality? Is it a conformist principle in that you have to conform?
Ms. Riley seems like such a well mannered, thoughtful, grounded and determined gal, very wise for her age and obviously an excellent support group. I'm proud for her and enjoyed the podcast very much.
How many times do you need to take a step back? Or how many times do you need to restart again with God? I feel like I’ve restarted too many times. Like when will I get it right?
I'm right there with you. This time I've been praying and fasting as well as praying for people that have hurt me. Every day is a challenge. Keep going though! God still loves you the same ❤️
2 Cor 3:18 we all are going from glory to glory in Christ and it’s a process. You alone will never get it right and once you accept that truth you will feel a weight lift off your shoulders. As Christians we don’t have to do it alone because we are never alone, don’t do it your strength do it in Christ strength. We can do all things God has called us to do through Christ who strengthens and empowers us (Phil 4:13). Speaking from experience.
❤ That was such a word from Joyce when she said there is nothing better than when you are honest with yourself.I pray for God to reveal more to me everyday about what I need to see in myself. That needs to be removed so I can decrease so the Holy Spirit can increase in me. God, give me wisdom. Thank you so much, Joyce for saying this. I needed to hear this today.
