This is a very impressive video, the power in that water is immense. It just shows that even a small creek can be harnessed to produce something very powerful. Ah, how nice of you to give me another mini flash flood after your recent one. My family had land that had natural springs that drained into one stream. My siblings and I use to do this all the time. A favorite way of getting cooled off in Ohio's HOT and HUMID summers. We would lay down in the pool of water before releasing it. Fond childhood memories. Thanks for the GREAT video and the memories.

Best flick in awhile I especualy liked the end. The colors and then with the water rush the stick then the rock jumping out of the water. this was great fun to watch. Reminded me of playing in streams at a valley a few miles away from home in the Uk . We used to build little dams with the rocks in the water to get the water to back up . If only we had had a sheet of plywood .

It's fairly simple density*depth*surface area, where you can use the depth of the board's center of area to calculate it. My estimate from "3.5 ft circular" with a small cutout at the top down to 3 ft tall gives about 4000 N of force (400 kg), or about 900 pounds force. For pressure, skip surface area and it's not much over half a psi, at about 4.5 kPa (double that for the max pressure at the bottom of the board).

Pressure in psf = unit weight (62.4 lb/ft^3) times Depth (ft). Then if you want to know the load on the wood, Area of wood (ft^2) * P (lb/ft^2) = load (lb)
