So this is your opinion of me. Thank you for explaining so fully. Perhaps these offences might have been overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my honesty...
***** Oh yeah, I get it. I want to buy all of the books Christine mentions in her videos but I don't have money so Ii always download them through the Internet. I would like to have a whole collection to have them on a shelf. But yeah.
"You're eating the same sandwich over and over again" lmao I'm dying. The show The 100 is SO GOOD. I haven't read the book but everyone says that the show is better.
+Inthebookcorner i've never watched the show, but i've seen so much of it on tumblr and it looks wayy more complex and interesting. i read the books and i'm telling you right now - the book is REALLY lacking. it's a trilogy, three short books that really aren't long enough to be a trilogy and should've been one book. it has barely any plot and has absolutely no action. most of the trilogy is just four characters, who go through, like, no character development, and basically just share their backstories (what a coincidence, they all intertwine, and with no subtlety at all). there's a love triangle, which isn't even natural - it's like oh will you look at that i bet he's a love interest. the characters are all stereotypes - you have the 'perfect main character' clarke, you have your 'bad boy' bellamy, you have 'nice dude' wells, and you have your 'im just here to show you how life is like back on the ship' glass (does glass exist in the show? idk). the backstories are all stereotypes as well - flat, predictable, and every 'twist' they try to pull is just so sudden, it makes no sense. heck, even the plot is predictable. the whole premise just seems like an excuse to get a bunch of teenagers alone together, and they could've made it work, could've created an amazing story, but they didn't. also, lexa, who i've seen from gifs, does not exist. tell me that the show's better. i hope it is. because the books are pretty bad.
+Inthebookcorner I have read the books and they honestly aren't that interesting. The tv shows is sooo much better and many things are different in the books (Octavia is so young, other main characters like glass and so many more)
+polandbananasBOOKS Also, you need to read and talk about a book series that are super cool called Grimm Diaries Prequel written by Cameron Jace. That are really cool. I don't know if you'll like them but I sure enjoyed them. They are in Amazon right now as well as Snow White Blood Red and Blood, Milk and Chocolate. It's like reading Winter, Scarlett and Cinder but in a different way...Go reading!!
+Hannah Galloon and that is why she need to read the books. btw for people who have no clue whats the problem it supposed to be "Fire and Blood" and "Hear Me Roar"
I caught that lil' StarKid reference Christine! :P Also 'GO TO A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT!' made me laugh because there was a time in your Snapchat stories were you went to The Cheesecake Factory like 8 times a week! :')
+polandbananasBOOKS Don't worry. Never favoured Maze Runner either. I tried reading Twilight but I feel the movies ruined the motivation for me. It tried reading the book without thinking about the movie but it keeps coming back. What should I do to make it stop?
S//Sxtra I was actually going to read Maze Runner till I saw the movie, and the same thing in Twilight, it ruined it for me. I think I was more disappointed in Maze Runner. I felt like "F*** this shit, I'm out."
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH CHRISTINE! i hope you know that your energy and joy that you always show brightens my day along with many others. i feel like i know you in real life from just how real you are with us and i always look forward to watching/rewatching your videos! keep being a light to all of your viewers and friends,we love you so much!!
One series I really enjoyed (and I think I remember you enjoying too?) is the Matched trilogy by Allie Condie but that trilogy gets a lot of hate online haha But it's okay! Not everyone has to love the same things of course! I loved The Fifth Wave but still haven't read the second (but I own it).. I need to look online and see when the third comes out so I can catch up!! I've never read the Maze Runner books BTW but I don't really have much interest too... the movie was pretty action packed and it was pretty good... but there's just way too many other books that I would rather read! This is such a fun tag! Love seeing everyone's answers!
Best intro!! I really want to read The 5th wave now! I wasn't sure but hearing that you enjoyed it makes me want to pick it up for sure 😊 You're the best, love this tag!
Christine, I hope I'm catching you early on this video, but there is a trilogy that I would recommend to you and it's called "Dancing Jax" by Robin Jarvis and it's kind of like YA horror but it's really good, I think you might like it. It's not very well known at all but I think it would be awesome if it could get out there and become more well know. The three books are Dancing Jax, Freax and Rejex, and Fighting Pax. Great video by the way!
Oh and by the way if you did want to try it out you could probably only find it on Amazon or somewhere like that. It's a bit obscure but trust me it's worth it!
Your personality is priceless! If I'm ever feeling down then I come to your channel and watch your videos. You're so bubbly and you deserve so many more subscribers! x
Blecaute of school, I am watching these vídeo right now!!!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO SINCE FOREVER, not FOREVER but you know what I mean ;) Thank you for the VIDEO and wish you a very happy New Year because you deserve it a lot!!! Lots of love from Portugal ❤️❤️❤️
Julian! Yes! I don't know anyone else who prefers him! I really loved that it explored second love and how so much more is at stake because you know what heartbreak is by then.
YAAASSSSSS SO EXCITED FOR the the third book in the 5th wave series as well...finally found a booktuber who is as excited for it as I am .Love ya Christine !
I think Fitzgerald was around alot of really unlikeable people and maybe he just wanted to tear them a new one-- in his own way. Seems like he must have really hated the top 1 percent in the Great Gatsby.
diefacingourfoes i agree. More people would think the same way if they actually read the books. Everyone I know says they're too long and intimidating but it's my favorite series. It's life.
That shirt is adorable! I was surprised to hear your opinion on Game of Thrones. I personally haven't read them, but I have heard that despite its size, it is a quick read. (Have a great new year your videos are so cute!)
+Tastypie ooohh I've never read one. Do you have a recommendation? I feel like, sadly, it'd get such a bad rap. Like if a girl cant choose between 2 guys she is just confused and they're both great. But i'm sure a lot of people would be quick to call a guy a player. #rude #doublestandards
+TheBookDruggie I loved An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Some people said it didn't live as much to their expectations but I've heard others that loved it ! Personally, I thought it was really good. :)
THAT CHO CHANG BIT THO. i love those shirts I want one. Mostly a sweatshirt. SOON. I KEEP SAYING SOON BUT STILL SOON. Maze Runner books are 5 bajillion times better than the movie.
I have the same opinions ^-^ But now seriously girl, you must read the ASOIAF series. It's fantastic, fabulous, amazing... it's a masterpiece. So much better than the show (and the show it's awsome, so think about that). I know it takes time to read those books, but the fact that you thought "A Lannister Always Pays His Debts" it's the Lannister saying makes me feel bad. Oh, my sweet summer child, you have so many things to learn. We can say that you know nothing, Christine Snow (I just couldn't help it, sorry, I had to say it). Big fan btw :3
For the author one, John Green and Lauren Oliver. John Green: His stories are kind of overrated. I've read TFIOS and I even *own* it. All I hear is, TFIOS made me so sad! I cried! I dunno if it was just me, but I honestly thought their love relationship wasn't that great. I watched Paper Towns (since I gave up on John Green a long time ago) and I got so mad at Margo at the end. The movie led up to nothing. To a "kind of sad" ending. Omfg. Lauren Oliver: started reading Vanishing Girls and I was waiting for the part where the sister would disappear. After 100 pages, I honestly got bored. I tried Before I Fall and all they talk bout is sex. And I gave up. Sorry if this offended anyone, it's just my opinion.
Completely agree on the John Green front. I feel like every book of his (and I've read most of them now) are the same plot lines just in a different location and different character names. None of his books really grab me and a lot of his characters just annoy me. I know they have deeper meanings that I am aware of but I just don't like the characters enough or the writing style or the storylines to really connect with them. I find his books very generic and typical and don't really understand the hype at all :/ I keep reading more in the hope il find what everyone seems to love but I'll give up now after 5 haha
I toootally agree with you on the "chosen one" thing, and especially on the divergent movies. There was NO need to destroy such an amazing series that way. It honestly makes me sad. p.s: first time commenting on your channel but you are seriously amazing!!
Same with the maze runner, it was just super annoying, the firt book was good but then they started inventing all these other parts of the world and I just didn't like it at all, I liked the first book because of the puzzles and everything but the others just ruines it, also brenda, I freaking hated brenda, I wanted him to end up with teresa
Wow really? I was the opposite. I didn't really like Teresa, and Brenda was one of my favourites. It's strange how characters can cause such different opinions :)
I think I'm the only one that hated Teresa lol I just couldn't stand her. And I really like the maze runner and the scorch trials but the last book was depressing for me. I kinda wished they just had a much better ending than that.
When you started talking about Delirium, I just turned the volume all the way down but I could still READ your lips...AHH...For the book trope, it's not really a trope...but when there is a girl's life has been ruined by some accident and then it turns out that the love interest is the one who caused it...so many contemporaries have been RUINED by this...I'm getting tired. Out of the past 10 or so 'sad' contemporaries that I've read, like 6 of them have been the same...I mean, the first couple were ok, because the guy wasn't creepy about it, but then the others had the guy seem like a stalker, trying to gain forgiveness by making the girl fall in love with him...😕😕😕 Anyway, coming down from my pedestal of ranting...GREAT VID!!! I agree with most of these, keep doing what you are doing, Christine! Favorite booktuber! 💖
Can't wait to get the new shirt!!! They look AWESOME! Also, I've read all of the Vampire Diaries books and HECK YES the show is SO much better! Love you and all your goofy/bookishness! Stay beautiful!
I just wanted to thank you because I used to love to read and when I started high school, I just couldn't find time for it and didn't want to read anymore, but thanks to your amazing channel I have gotten back into reading. So thank you so much! :)
I loved the 5th wave series too Christine!!! It's one of my favs and I'm glad other people have loved it as much as I did. Are you immensely excited for book 3 and also are you team Ben or team Evan?
I was wondering when you were gonna do this tag, and now you have! Yay! My favorite parts were 5:46 (the same section like a sandwich), 6:11 (the Tris in the Divergent movies rant), and 7:23 (the singing of The Game of Thrones song).
I love Game of Thrones. I've only watched the show and don't ever plan on reading the books so I'm there with ya. And I had no idea you had your own merch! I just recently discovered your channel and I am so going to that website now! Love you!!
I was nodding throughout the entire video, I agree with you on EVERYTHING lolol :') BTW IM OBSESSED WITH THE NEW DESIGN I CANT WAIT TO GET IT OHMAYGAAAAAHD
MissAlyssaRay22 I personally dislike John Green books. I find his writing to be pretty shallow with the facade of a "deep story." No hate toward him,, but I just don't like it. I hated the hunger games too. Also, divergent, and vampire academy... *shrug* Oh, well! At least others really enjoy them, and they have had fun experiencing literature. They're reading so that's all that matters!
To me John green is just okay, I don't love or hate his works. I couldn't get into the maze runner because I saw the movie first. But THANK YOU! Finally, someone else who hates the hunger games. I thought I was the only one
omgg. I laughed so hard at your sandwich metaphor! I love the new shirts!! I want one, but i've never been a fan of GOT ;n; but the t-shirt concept is amazing!!
Author I can't stand: Cassandra Clare. I can't get into TMI series no matter how hard I try, also she is always writing about the same basic idea/world/people??? How does she not get sick of it???
Um, so many people write from the same world?? Rick Riordan, Morgan Rhodes, Leigh Bardugo, etc?? Nobody complains when its them always writing from the same idea. Also, she can create as many books as she wants because its a huge world she created.
I think she can write about the same world in different series because each series is a lot different than the other like its the same world, but the time periods, characters, plots everything else is different :)
I would recommend trying to finish city of glass because that book was the one where I personally found that all of the world building and character development all blended together and even though I found the first two books to be a bit slow the rest of the series really did make up for it :))
+Libby Hopkins ) OMG, I COULDN'T even finish the first book, I got through half way and I gave it back to the library. I liked the concept of the world, but I just didn't like the characters and the love triangle...
I love your new shirt design!! I MUST HAVE IT. I have your booklion t-shirt and I LOVE IT. Also, you are 100% correct, The Vampire Diaries show is WAY better than the books.
Christine I love your shirt :D! The Chosen One bit in the movie adaptation of the Divergent series, annoyed me too. In a way it did make sense but it just wasn't in the book.
The new shirts are awesome and I love the video. I have been putting the game of thrones on the back burner. I started the first book once but it felt like it was taking forever.
OKAY I JUST WANNA POINT OUT THAT I LOVE YOU FOR USING "TBR" NOVEMBER 9 REFERENCE IS AMAZING AND I LOVE YOU FOR IT (im sorry if its already a famous term but idk i just read november 9 bc of you polandbananas) BUT THANK YOU
You explaining the thought process you need in order to enjoy The 5th Wave just reminded me so much of LOST's finale! I get that it's a finale, and it's supposed to wrap up neatly, and people were angered that it didn't, but in my opinion that's what made LOST so special: you were constructing the puzzle as you went along, and the ending just made you wonder and speculate even more; it wasn't handed on a silver platter. The writers forced you to think: what happens to these characters next? And I though the series, including the finale, was exceptional :)
