I feel like Em in the early years was goin through all his shit and wrote some deep ass stuff. Now he’s just trying to prove he’s the greatest technically to ever do it. Like he’s just haven fun, breakin records and clownin people.

Eminem is literally trying to prove he's the rap God now. We all know he's lyrical af when he wants to be. We all know he can battle and destroy careers when he wants to. Now I just think he's stuntin and trying to show us on a technical level he can do anything. Hes trying to prove he's the best "technical" rapper and can rap in any pocket, any cadence, any beat. Perfect example of this is the song Godzilla. Not a lot of ppl picked up on this but if you go back and listen to that song every verse and actually every like 4-8 bars was a completely different flow/cadence/pocket. There wasn't a single flow cadence or pocket he rapped in more than once in the whole song. Every few bars he would switch it up into a completely different tempo/pocket and and cadence. And I think that's what he's doing now days. He's got nothing else left to prove but the fact he can rap in any flow any tempo any cadence any pocket effortlessly without the beat every changing...only his flow does. He's showing off his technical prowess and honestly that's all he really would have left to prove...and I think that's what's he's doing. Everyone should go back to Gawdzilla and listen how he does that thru the entire song...no one flow is the same as the last or next On a technical level he really is the rap God. We don't don't have to like his music or it even be sonically appeasing to our ears... but technical wise he really is the rap God

I think in em’s song book of rhymes he explains a little bit of why a lot of people have kind of fallen off of his music,”What happened to Slim? He was no cap with the pen He used to rap like the people his music was for He was exactly like them The dude who used to be poor, why can't he tap into him? Can't use that excuse anymore”. There are a few other songs that mention why his rap has changed so much as well. In his song no regrets he mentions it as well “Yeah, they miss the old me (Yeah) I think they want me to OD on codeine They want my life in turmoil like in '03 They want front row seats, I give 'em nosebleeds They want me imploding, exploding, self-loathing, eroding”. I just think a lot of people are still clinging to the old em and need to see that he’s not really the same person anymore.

Cordae's verse smoked Jack's lol. Jack had a cool flow but Dae had substance and actual punches. Em's verse was alot more complex than both tho. He was just talking his shit and his first 20 second scheme was better than both verses. Jack sounded the best for the club vibe but he really said nothing. Your favorite rapper is subjective. Em isnt my favorite rapper but as much as it hurts me to say this, he raps the best. My favorite is also Wayne. Em just has everything. He hits every pocket, he has every flow, cadence, punches, verse structure, etc. The dude just puts so much passion and work into his verses. He's just a different breed. For the longest time i said wayne was better but i was just lying to myself. I like Waynes music more, but when it comes to MC skills, Em is the best.

I totally understand what you’re saying, but this song wasn’t really meant to be full of knowledge or hard-core bars but he never disappoints when it comes to double or triple homonyms and homophones. He was having a good time on here with a few fellow rappers and enjoying himself. He’s no longer that person he was when he first got into the game. He’s no longer poor or living in destitute or struggling to support his family so he can’t rap about the same things anymore. But if you have listen to any of his last album that came out I believe it was the side B of Music to be murdered by. There were quite a few songs in there that had some deep meaning. IMO, when it comes to lyricism, there is no one in the industry that is on Em's level. There are rappers out there that rap faster than Em, but they don't have the punchlines. Other rappers have great punchlines, but they don't have the double & triple entendres. There are other rappers that can rap fast, have punchlines, use double entendres, but they're missing the cadence and internal rhymes schemes that Em has. Also, Eminem can stay on topic for the entire song, not like these other rappers that switch topics a couple dozen times in one song. Eminem has songs where he rhymes entire sentences, and he's actually saying something, not just spitting a word salad. He's got all the tricks. Does that mean he has the best songs? No, because the "best songs" is a subjective thing. The listener decided which song is the best. A lot of people get turned off by how complex Eminem's lyrics are. They just want something to bop to, a song that puts them in a positive vibe. Even though Em has those kinds of songs too, that is probably his least strong point.

Bro , eminem has touched on many topics on his songs , if you listen to his albums he has spoken about a lot of relative moments in history, darkness ( the manchester shooting ) his older music about his struggles growing up , . He always addresses the people and press shaming him if you listen to kamikaze. Now days eminem is showing his extremely high intellectual level of lyricism and technical wordplay. So many rappers now rap about stupid unrelating shit that makes no sense wheras eminems bars actually get put together really well through the way that he delivers them. Eminem appeals to the audience that enjoy extreme technical wordplay, lyrisism, punchlines ect, for example in this song, reptilan like a chameleon has four different meanings. Rep ( his area deteoit) to the end. Rap to the end . Wrap till the end ( a chameleon is known for wrapping its body around things ,. His rapped for 20 years now and he is sure he will rap to the end. This is only one example. Nobody is asking you to like it because whether you do or you do not eminem is the highest selling and most succesful solo hip hop artist of all time . It’s interesting to see this video after you have reacted to a little more Eminem. While at times he keeps things simple, you have seen he still drops complex rhyme schemes and says a lot of stuff in the process. He has funny songs and stuff that he just pops together but his catalogue from the beginning to this day is still filled with lyrical, complex bars. He is the goat - no doubt. He meets and typically tops any metric u want to give for qualifications for that title including longevity.

You need to do “The Patriot” by Adam Calhoun. I know you thought the Adam & Upchurch was sub par. Give this one a listen.

I'll say it, this is Eminem's style of mumble rap, just talk about how good he is and how much money he has. Yes it's lyrically unmatched. You cant step to Eminem lyrically. I'm just saying, him living so long in a ultra rich lifestyle bubble, has him just rapping none sense. No real subject matter beside gossip. Will the REAL SLIM SHADY please come BACK?! sounds like both Alfred albums. Kamikaze was his last good work. I love Eminem, he has mad skill (the best). Even in this 'gossip' rap he can't be matched I give him that. It's just not that good. I'm mature enough to dislike some of a artists catalog and still give him props. I'm mature enough to still be friends with someone that doesn't have the same views or beliefs, unlike most the internet.

I dunno that you are totally wrong with the feeling of it not being deep/or on fire bars. Sometimes even when I get a new Em song, I laugh at some of its simplicity.....but I love it none the less. And there are certain WTF lines that I think "really?" But that is the great thing about Em I think. I know the catalogue a whole lot better after a year of gathering songs I like (56 now). In my playlist I HAVE to have these fun, stupid, silly songs mixed into it. A lot more of his songs are very deep, very dark, and insanely emotional. I need the breakup with stupid and silly. Kind of like a pallet cleansing, before the next course of the meal. I do wonder about him getting into this thing of explaining his bars......but I think I know why.
