I get my hair washed, blow dried, braided, and get a shape up all for $180. $500 is absolutely insane. You’d swear ATL has their own currency system.

I do think with the beauty maintenance sometimes they need to look within themselves. Because you can do everything you want to do for yourself but shaming others for saving money or just not wanting to do it is crazy

Yes, I absolutely do not like when girls cast their OWN insecurities on other girls. Idolizing nails, lashes, makeup, etc is a big part of that.

All of these ‘Core’ trends are giving me lack of individuality. It’s okay to try things out, but at one point, just do what makes you happy rather than breaking ya self to fit in. Especially the girlies 20+ and up.

Using having a Prius as an insult shows how privileged and out of touch that lady is. She needs to spend at least a year among people whose basic needs aren't met. Maybe then she'll realize painted nails are not a necessity. The girl talking about ogres is obviously very insecure about how she looks without enhancements. If you don’t feel comfortable levaing your home without your hair, nails, etc done, the problem is internal. No amount of external work will fix it. You can like all that stuff but not feeling comfortable in your own skin is a problem.

I agree with you about the bows and femininity. The bow trend seems like its fun. Some women love femininty. I understand the seriousness darkside of the bow trend. I'm a bit disappointed in women thinking we have to spend loads of money monthly just for nails, hair and make up. If you want to do so, go for it. But no need to insult others lol. I have never paid to get my nails done. It's been years I've not been to the salon, I don't wear makeup either. I just like it that way, honestly. Life is easier when you make it easy. I also have a job that I love and that can't be done with long nails. A job that implies having messy hair, dirty clothes and messed hands on a daily basis. But I love it, and I love the people I work with, as well as the area it enables me to live in. Why would some women talk so bad about women like me ? Its beyond me 🤷‍♂️ Also, 1,5k a month for maintenance ? How does she pay the bills ? How does she afford groceries ? Like... before maintenantce there are things that we all NEED... anyway

Listen, maintenance is so expensive and I highly suggest having a budget for things but here’s what I do: Gel manicure: 1X a month : $40 Monthly silk press: 1X a month: $125 Eyebrows: 1X a month: $30 Wax: 1X a month: $40 Total: $235 a month You gotta do what works for you but no one should be shamed for what you can/can’t afford!

I do all my beauty services things myself. I'm not about to pay no insane price for not even half assed work. Not when they demand we come hair washed,blow dried, taken down,etc. If I have to do all that work, what in the hell am I here for?!!! Washing a client hair is cosmetology 101,and,any salon can be shut down by board of health for non compliance.

I'm sorry but I'm never going to someone's home to get my hair done and I'm not going to someone who's not a licensed professional. I've only gone to a licensed professional and while it's pricey, she actually knows what she's doing, doesn’t have dumb rules, is on time, is professional, doesn't expect me to do her job, and actually has helped me care for my hair. She's not just in it for a check.

I feel the same way about dupes, at the end of the day you’re still left wanting the real product and I’d rather wait and save up and be even more satisfied that I was able to buy that product, for me it was double wear foundation and too faced blush, it was expensive yes but I can tell you this, I would not even hesitate to throw away a drugstore product because I didn’t love it, these higher end things I bought, I will keep them until they expire 💕 and I made a thorough choice because of the cost.
