Great vid again bud! My club lake is a meter over depth at the mo, completely flooded out. It's over 300 years old, full of roach and perch and a pretty much untouched pike population, but it's been completely unfishable for weeks. There's a decent head of pike judging by the activity the other anglers see. It's so frustrating!
Great vid as always. Unlucky when the river has flooded that much. The rain is always annoying when it floods the rivers and make them unfishable for some weeks. Where I live the ice has grown thick enough to make the first deadbait session of the winter.
I'm heading to the river Severn near Worcester the weekend on the hunt too with lures.. I'd love to dead bait but no bivvy yet so wana be on the move to up my changes. N stay a little warmer,Crank baits, soft lures & pike fly margin hunting.
When winter approaches and the temperatures cool, the pike become more lethargic especially when freezing and feed less, personally I would try and stay mobile throughout the day trying different areas hoping to stumble across the fish, persistent normally pays off....when the mild weather comes in that would be my favourite time for getting a bait in the water.
My local river is a triibutary of the Trent and we've had so much rain this year that the river has been like this since the Summer and is completely unfishable, with the fields flooded and access to the river impossible. This season has been a total washout.
Dont you ever give it ago in flooded rivers? My local river fishes really well for pike when in flood, fishing the slacks, had some decent pike with oiled up baits
