How can I separate instances? Everything I paint just gets added to the same Instance

How did you create different instanced foliage actors in your scene outliner? This is exactly what I want and I never found any solution.

Thanks, super straightforward and helpful! I just wanted a brief for painting grass on a flat area because a whole 'Foliage system' seemed so intimidating (like most things in Unreal haha), but was really simple once you got into it. The sloped section from 15:00 onward was good for the use cases I hadn't even considered yet! Glad to know it's that easy.

I think collision is what makes you unable to zoom in with alt+RMB. Sometimes the camera just gets knocked out of the collision box when you want to pan or rotate. super annoying.

Great video! I've used Unreal since UDK and I love the foliage tool; sometimes I take along break from doing landscape stuff and need a reminder of my parameters for the foliage brush - this was a great way to ~brush~ back up. Haha! Thanks.
