I was playing around with chaos destruction and thought it would be cool to kick a wall down. So I made a video about how I did it.
Project Assets - sorry looks like the files were deleted from my google drive I’ll try and restore them

Very nice background music - that must be every-time when you teach people in your videos - instead of tuc tuc tuci tuci better for learning are calm music like you have. And very nice tutorial. I wish you have couple more videos dedicated for chaos destruction - one where you explain in details chaos fields, second where you show how to add niagra particles to destruction and third one video how to make projectile based weapon which one destroys the walls with projectiles (bullets, rockets, grenades etc).

Btw. Some demo fields setup are directly in Engine folder named with prefix "FS_"

Thanks for this! Great tutorial. One minor thing, you didn't include the animation_bp for the character ;) Which of course means some people might have trouble setting it up from scratch. :)

Please help... I have set my anchor fields exactly the same but when I shoot the walls with my rifle there is no effect? You mention force field but give no idea what to do with is? Really frustrating.

can you make the wall get destroyed by different methods combined? like get fractured by an explosion or something but also be able to be cut straight if you attack it with a slice attack?

This is pretty cool but I think you should have used AnimNotifies instead of delays to trigger the field spawing.

Do you think this is stable enough for UE4 usage? I'm trying to do as much as I can in UE4 before UE5 is fully released, I want it to be a relatively smooth transition and this looks like something that would work properly in UE4. Also is the Chaos System network replicated by default or would the code have to be altered?

you can install the chaos enabled ue 4.27 in your epic launcher. it is a new engine install, not update.

I have a problem. without anything when my character try to run into the wall, wall start to fall off. I want to fracture the wall only when I hit or kick

I can't figure out why my Chaos wall falls apart right when I hit play? Auto activate is off. It is dynamic by default but it falls apart right away, no force applied. When I set it to kinematic, no force will do anything, even when I blow up explosive barrels with radial force right next to it. How do I make the wall stable as you do? And only change to dynamic when there is some force? What am I doing wrong :D This is default behaviour, I just booted up chaos and fractured it, saved, hit play and it falls apart immediately..

However I have some issue with your project files for testing - when I copy them into content folder in project then in UE5 it shoes totally empty folder, but why?. Help Me please! Thanks! :)

Sometimes UE5( especially first early access version) had(has) a bug that lists are not refreshed in UI properly. You should restart your UE in order to get correct view of the lists( content view is also a list). Maybe that's exactly your case. Otherwise you can always submit an issue to Epic -- they( or skilled guy from community) answer quite fast.

Yes you can attach the force field bp to a spawned mesh

In my testing and with this example you should be fine. I did notice something similar when I was using box collisions

Yes but you have to get a seperate build. It’s not included in the main version releases

Wtf happens between enabling the plugin and looking through the fracture tab? How do you get there? This is literally "Draw a circle and then draw the rest of the owl" type of situation

Once you enable the plugin (and restart UE5), you simply click the fracture tab at the top (highlighted blue in the video)

Yes should be able to trigger the event within sequencer. I haven’t got a video. But perhaps that is an easy one to get out. Check out the ue documentation docs.unrealengine.com/4.26/en-US/AnimatingObjects/Sequencer/HowTo/TracksEvent/

How do you make it so that only part of the wall is destroyed? I see the full object being destroyed when it is damaged.

Not true... there's a search bar on you can type "Collision type" and "Implicit type" and you will easily find those.
