Teaching any subject requires talent. It is not just about how good you are at the subject or how long you have been working with that subject. There are geniuses in mathematics, programming, music, etc., but there are very few who can teach these subjects and explain them in a smooth technique and manner. You have made the incomprehensible into something clear and accessible. Thank you for the most wonderful explanation. In fact, there are not enough words to reward your effort.❤

I have been looking for this for 3 days! I watched tons of videos and not only they teach things very fast, they also skip a lot of things, so there was always a ''blackhole'' even after watching most of them. I cannot find a words how your way of teaching is so good! You can see you care about someone that will watch it later and I finally stopped having anxiety that even after watching a video I will be in the same place. With you, I can finally breath and I trust every step. At the same time it's slow I can catch up on anything, look up in Unreal and just slowly get to know it myself. This is like next level of teaching I never experienced before. That's insane. You deserve milions of subscribers.

@@livinfreestyle6727 It truly has, i think that the most common type of tutorial is the "do as i do method" where the person guide you through a step by step process that leads you to a final result but often i have no idea how and why i'm doing what i'm doing and it's impossible for me to replicate once i've shut down the video, unless i were to blindly memorize every step. Even then if anything goes wrong, i find myself not knowing how to resolve the issue because i have no ground to stand on. The approach you're employing is much more pedagogical and i really wish all tutorials were like this and not just thoughtless "Get good fast" videos or overly complicated ones with no explanations. You're truly helping us learn strong fundamentals, i can't stress how qualitative what you're doing is.

You explained it like it was a piece of cake! I was always lost in unreal engine, everyone online was teaching most of the 3D part of the engine easily, but the blueprints part was really hard to understand. The was you explained it made it so easy to understand. Most of the time experts explain things like they are explaining to someone of their level, they fail to explain it to the level of someone below them, but you did that perfectly! You are indeed a real example of a perfect teacher. And, i loved that background music playing through the whole lecture. Thanks a lot.

And I just got to add to this, I’m not a commenter normally, but after doing this I felt compelled. Your understanding of how steep the learning curve is, and apply your teaching with that in mind is so, so helpful and appreciated. Many out there take for granted the knowledge needed and forget the foundation understanding of the skills and knowledge that you seem to focus on, and deliver at such a welcome pace so well. There are many of us out there who really want to pursue these skills, but don’t have the background to make it easier. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. You’ve no idea how welcome your classes are! Sorry I’ll leave it there! ❤

Hearing the vids are helpful is awesome. So extra thank you for stepping outside your usual zone and taking the time to comment. I'm not some big personality that's entertaining to watch. I"m pretty dry, pretty monotonic, so comments like these help inspire me to keep going and know that this style does land well for some. If you find gaps or there are other vids that would be helpful, let me know by asking questions or dropping comments. That's how I figure out where to focus time (plus voting) as well as figure out if I missed something important in a video to help you all fill in the gaps.

Thanks so much again.

@@livinfreestyle6727I have a question, I’ve spent the last 2 years (2-6hrs/day) learning Blender, Zbrush, Sunstance, UE 5, Photoshop, etc and have utilized free and paid course (Vertex School, Outgang, 3D Tudor etc) learning digital art in my free time. What kind of position or skill could I focus on to get my foot in the door at a Studio?
@livinfreestyle6727
@livinfreestyle6727 7 месяцев назад
I would ask, what do you want to do? You are competing against people who love, live and dream about being a game designer, animator, concept artist etc. They know what they want and that's what they are studying hard. One of the things I see a lot is people "aren't quite sure" what they want to do, so you're asking a studio "where do I fit" as opposed to "I want that job" I'd say it's a very rare and special case for the studio to do the work to find a place for you. Now if you are asking what position is the most desirable/difficult to find and potentially best chance of getting in.....lts hard. I'd say creative roles on both tech and art side are highly sought after. For example, anytime someone says they want to be a concept artist at dreamworks....that's like a handful of positions and VERY competitive. So it depends on the studio, size of studio, and what you want to do I'm thinking.

Character artist would be my main choice but I enjoy 3d art so much I wouldn’t mind doing environments or texturing. I currently work a full time job but spend 4-6hrs a day 7 days a week learning 3d. You can definitely make short films in unreal. If you search you can find a bunch of them, but for example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pf4TwsBggdY.html Thanks for watching the video!

Hey mate, Found your class after trying a few other beginner tutorials on UE5. Demonstrated great at a good pace to keep up with. How long have you been working in visual scripting?
@livinfreestyle6727
@livinfreestyle6727 11 дней назад
It’s sort of fuzzy. Specifically visual unreal scripting approx 10 years, but I had worked with node graphs for programs like shake and nuke and was also a software engineer in a previous life. Which is why I said fuzzy. Glad you found the pace matched your style.

I found the problem, you need to go to the Settings wheel in the upper right of the drop-down menu, and tick the box for "show engine content" under the content section.

Excellent tutorial, very helpful and clear to understand - thank you for taking the time to create this. I have a question though. I am trying to follow it step-by-step and at min. 31:45, where you bring in a "Spawn Emitter at Location" node, I see you can choose between 2 assets - 3DparticleOpacity and TutorialParticleSystem - which I do not have. Any hints, please ?
@livinfreestyle6727
@livinfreestyle6727 25 дней назад
Are you using the 3rd person template? If so, it's possible the contents of that can change over time/version (ie depending on unreal version). So perhaps make sure you have the starter content. If not, let me know and I can point you to an easy way to grab a particle

Its not just nodes and scripting what makes unreal complicated. I have used node based apps like Controllermate, Davinci, Fusion. This is a great video. But lets not forget that Unreal as an application needs to apply some UX fundamentals to the current state of the app. There are so many functions that do not need so much user input on so many area's in the UI to do basic stuff. I am sure they are working on it and it's not easy converting a game engine to a app that is easy to understand. But Unreal would benefit a lot from having different 'rooms'. For example in Davinci you can switch from Media to Edit, to Fusion, to Color Grading to Render. All different 'rooms' which are parallel to the same timeline. Unreal has too many functions to understand and control from a single UI. Thanks again for the video's.

I think I have some ideas on how to add a "Class one applied" to help get us setup for some more step by step learnings that will help, but, yes Unreal is a beast of information. Thanks for watching!

Generally we are using Unreal Engine 5.3 now with some 5.4. These older videos are probably plain 5.0. I will do a better job of remember to say which engine version I am using at the start. The other thing is that editor preferences will make a difference in how things look. Finally if there is something you need help with or clarify just drop a comment or hop on discord

Confused as to whether I should focus solely on BP or also learn some C++... So much stuff to learn already (I'm also learning graphic design + After Effects on my own as a plan B, cuz game dev is hella difficulty especially solo and in your mid 30's) :( The dude that created Bright Memory: Infinity only used BP and his game looks amazing and performs so great!
@livinfreestyle6727
@livinfreestyle6727 7 месяцев назад
THere are actually many examples of BP only games out there. I believe Enenera is another one and looks awesome. This video is a great breakdown of C++ vs BP. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VMZftEVDuCE.html My vote would be what is fastest. So if you know C++, you can use it, but if BP is faster then get your experience stood up and iterate from there. If you get your ENTIRE game built in blueprint and at the very end realize you need to hire a C++ or learn c++ for some performance reasons, that will be amazing! My bet is you are just going to naturally learn what you need along the way and always rememberr KISS (Keep it simple silly)

@@livinfreestyle6727 I'm saying Yes I would like a tutorial on how to make a game be it simple or otherwise. Not everyone can pick up on learning from these tutorials (like me lol) So example I'm a video editor is i was to make a tutorial I would 1st show persons what video their learning to make with intro transitions etc then go into the software & get started & explain what the keys are for when I use them. I opened unreal engine & from veiwpoint to this & that like wow. Hope you got some clarity & thanks for replying.
