Very useful. Thanks. For beginners... Would be interesting a video on how an attacker can defend against the shots on goal of the opposite defender (how to prevent/block as much as possible with your 3-bar, the 2-bar shots of the opponent).

WTF ? Why the hell do you guys have 5 players in the defense ? Here in Portugal we just have 3 ... GK and 2 Defensers ... And the tricks we do here are so much difficult to do ... The trick that almost everyone loves to do in the cafe is 3 touches ... You hit the ball with the player number 2 to player number 1 and then to player number 3 and you shoot ... What kind of tricks do you guys can do with that foosball table ? :s

Believe it or not, there are many types of tables around the world. Some tables have flat surfaces, others have ramps on the corners. The players may be configured differently also.

I think the camera angle you put on there actually made him think the 5-row was the goalie row...even though the table looks a bit too small if that's the case!

The 2 extras in the goalie row can't cover the goal anyway. I think they're there just so the ball wouldn't get stuck in the corners.

for me a normal foosball table has 11 players just like in a real game...this one has 13

Hey Zeke, Thanks for your instructional videos! They are the best I've ever seen since, as I'm sure you know, foosball in general is not a user-friendly sport, and a majority of skilled players do not like to "share the knowledge". I play tournaments regularly in Dallas and at times I get killed on a good pull shot, especially a long cut-back when the shooter waits a long time (like they should be doing). I tend to run out of defensive moves and then they shoot , and all too often, it's the same shot. Please present some different options and, if possible examples of matches, when you have time. Please show your defensive movement patterns and cadence while explaining, a couple of times, since I'm kind of dense and I really benefit from the detail you are able to provide. I have successfully applied what I have learned and definitely improved my game as a direct result of your expert tutorial advise. I assume you plan to play Texas State? Thank you Sir

This was awesome. Do you have any advice for goalies that need to block 5 bar shots? I try to follow the ball and keep my men close together but this does not always work.

Great videos, Zeke. I also like how you changed your video set up (good lighting) and quality. It's looking quite professional. I don't have to add any words to the content of your tutorials (you're doing a good job on that). Have you checked out Eric Dunn's 5 fundamentals of foosball or the duplicity of defense (his ytube channel is called dunneri). Your defense series reminded me of it.

I think it was very helpful video. I'll try the switch and shuffle defense. I have to work on my defense :). I'm not very good at adapting. Is it correct to assume that rollover push side is always easier than rollover pull side?

Hey zeke do you have any tips on improving speed on push/pull kicks? Having trouble hitting them faster and what camera do you use?

Hy Zeke, Thanx for an other Great Foosball Tutorial! I think in the following vids -for which i am waiting- you should say that its important not to go to far outside with the goalie....just as far that the ball doesnt matchl the gap any more! I hope you know what i mean, my english is too bad, sorry! So now i am waiting for more-especially five Bar defense :-)

I love all your videos. Just got started back into playing again. You taught me alot on my dead bar pull. And what to switch up. But I've never been a good defensive player. Alot of good tips on here. Still kind of loss on what defense I should use at the tables..lol!!

love the video! but i'm courios whether yoo can make some kind of tutorial explaining the best defence concepts against the specific shots like 'tips for defence against snake shot/pin shot / tic tac/ push / pull shot?
@zekefooser
@zekefooser 11 лет назад
No, it's not correct to assume that. Some players have a stronger side and can be either push or pull side. Some players can hit either side equally as good, but depending on the defense they may think that one side is not as open so they may keep shooting at the other side. For example, on a standard defense, it may look like the push side is not as open because of the way the defenders are set up and the forward's view.

A good backpin is actually a pretty nice shot, and can be hard to block. It does have the limitation that you can't go directly straight, but there are straight options to keep the D honest.

Hey guys, I love your vids - seriously! I've ONE plea for your next tutorial: Bank-shots (offensive). There are a lot of vids for this kind of shots from the defense-line (2), but none for the offense-line(3)...I practise this shot all the time, but don't understand its logic, respectively its angles...A tutorial would be very nice! couple of questions Zeke: 1)When exicuteing a post defense, is it a wise option to do? i mean whenever you exicute that i notice there is a limit to it, you still leave a little hole when thats there. is it only a good idea when you know your opponent cannot hit that small little gap? 2) Whenever you are playing defense, is it a good idea to have a spike defense (players are convex)? or a catch defense (players are concave), or a mix of both?

Hey Zeke. Could you be so kind and talk a bit more about defense concepts on all rods vs all opponent rods. For example I would like to know more about how to look for indicators and then how to change my 2 bar defense vs opponents 3 in a proper way. I ve seen some alterning types of defense during many matches. Do the pros just try out different types of defense or have they seen something special before their change? Why are some of them wildly switching their 5 and 3 vs opponents 2 and others dont or just switching for a short time at some point of a match? A lot of questions here. :) I think that things would be interessting for many other guys and girls. So, I hope to see you soon with some new content. Thank you for your advice and your time you spend for us.

If you play against proper defenders a backpin shot is usually not very effective. It looks quite funky though.
