To build speed and power for a pull shot set the ball under the bar as far away from you as you can. Put you middle man on the far side of the ball. Set the opponants men up so you only have to pull a short ways to score. Execute 100 shots then move the opponants men slightly so you must pull a greater distance. Again execute a hundred shots. Repeat until there is barely enough room for the ball to enter the goal. You learn the shot in increments.
I do not know if the U.S. rules allow .... but I stand with the keeper standing in front and the defense with his foot backwards making a V between defense and goalkeeper ... Another technique used by us is the goalkeeper and defense with the foot in front ..... decreasing the area of action of the attacker .... a big hug to everyone!
@kroak369 Typically the positioning of the ball makes a difference. I find that setting the ball forward makes it harder to square the shot. The further back you set it makes it easier to square shots. However, setting up the ball under the rod or even slightly forward can still allow you to square a shot and give you a quicker spray.
Actually this is one of my earlier tutorials, and at that time I had the Cyclone II Tornado table, which is a home model. The last few years I've done my tutorials on a Tornado T-3000 (non coin up).
@universe112 It is. I have also been used to play with hard plastic balls for most of the time and just recently gained some xp with rubber ones. Those are a little tricky to get used to, but overall better once you figure out how to control them.
good tutorial man!... I'm brazilian and I play foosball a long time.. but I'm not a professional player.... i looking the americans players i not look one good player with the brazilians players.. good video dude!!
Hey man - great vid. I'm trying to practice my pull shot. When pulling or pushing, do you try to keep contact between the player and the ball, while moving the player back around the ball, or do you just move it back and then smack?
Hi, Zeke, can you explain how to hold the handle to improve speed and power? I've been watching some tutorials for about a couple of days now, and I'm trying to do it, but my push kick shot seems very slow and with lack of power. I guess my stance and grip are good(stance sideways and standart push kick grip), but i still can't manage to increase the power of my shot. I'm a big fan of yours and i really like your videos ! :) Hope you reply! Cheers, Emil
You could have shown the pull-7 shot as well, if you know what i mean :) Pulling the ball to towards yourself but shooting diagonal in the opposite corner.
The pull is easier to square off. It's way way more difficult to hit a push dead bar than a pull dead bar. Squaring off a push shot is harder. I think it's harder to push the ball and hit, than pull and hit. I use the push shot a lot from the 2 bar, but mainly for sprayed shots. Squaring off push shots out of the back also take more effort, but it is a pretty good weapon. If you can get consistent about squaring off push shots with descent lateral speed then it can be an effective shot.
A "rolling pullshot" is one where you shoot the pull without stopping the ball. So at 2:55 I talk about the rolling pull option, where it looks like i'm going back and forth to set up a pull, but instead I end up shooting it.
@zekefooser thx for the tips man!!!! oh yeah.....i have another question....i can only perform a push snake shot...i cant pull...i can figure out why.....is it possible that the way i stand affect it???
I'm trying to learn the pull shot - what are your thoughts on squaring off so much that the ball actually cuts back into the goal. The way your defense is set up seems to be pretty common, and if the ball angles back in, it seems it would be even harder to block...
How can you get better at doing this shot? I can only do it very slowly, when I do fast I'm not even hitting the ball... Any tips how I can "train" this shot so I can do it as fast as in this video?
man!! your owsome but look im from bolivia and we dont have that kind of foosball tables we use the wood table and metal players and the foot of the players are thiner, so its more complicated to do tricks, even more comlicated to dominate the ball, now the question, can u make a tutorial for that kind of tables??
i start playing table football in army :P anyway.. my problem is that i handle it really hard..i know is bad but when i am trying to handle it softly i am not playing good. cant change the way of playing :( great videos, thanks for sharing !
It's just practice... Try them as often as possible and your shots will become faster and faster. Try to shoot as fast as possible without losing control over the ball.
hey zeke, since you said you never went into more detail about the pull shot, how about working on a tutorial to go more in-depth for a pull shot? :D can name it Part-2!
There are different types of tables. Most are typically made with 1 man goalie and ramps on the corners. The tornado table (the one i'm using here) is the most popular table in the US for tournament play. It's been around for over 20 years I believe. Other tables like bonzini, tec ball, roberto sport, garlando have 1 man goalies. Each table has it's own characteristcs and style of play. -zeke
Good job. My only complaint is that the background music is too loud or you voice is too soft making it a tad difficult to hear at times. Maybe next time try turning it down a little bit since the music isn't what we're hear for, it's the tips about foosball. Thanks! FOOSBALL FOR LIFE!
