$350 Dominican pesos for each plate like this cant be easily beaten anywehere else in the world. The prices is super good and the quality of the food a very good. Repember that the good thing about eating food in Dominican Republic is that its all natural and food really taste good.
@@DelightfulTravellers it was $350 without taxes right? Taxes are 18% + 10%. Anyways, great video! Thank you for showing this kind of stuff. Many people believe DR is only Punta Cana, Puerta Plata, sun, sand and beaches.
@@JJGM91 yes... without taxes. But it's still less than half the cost in Canada. Tax in our Canadian province is 15% and then throw on at least a 15% tip = 30% - Trevor
The Dominican Republic is A LOT MORE than just Casa de Campo and Punta Cana. We got everything. As a dominican born and raised, I would rather live here than in Europe(already lived abroad for awhile) despite the things we still gotta fix....Just the peace of mind and calmness most caribbean islands give is priceless. Thank you guys for this great channel and content just so people can learn more and open their minds.
We have a condo about 5-7 minutes from the restaurants you visited on today’s video. Some of our other favorite places are Lila Modern Cuisine. You must try their Braised Short Rib Appetizer. Boga Boga - (a place that’s been around for over 60 years, and still going strong). Sit at the bar and order the Octopus and Croquettes. They also serve the most delicious garlic bread. This combination is a meal in itself. (Their Caesar Salad is also very good). Wu Asian Cuisine for their Tuna Tatar, and so many other dishes. Can’t go wrong with Casa Brava, Laurel, and if ever in the mood for something a bit more upscale - check out Restaurant Sully. Another institution, with a long track record. Salud & Bon Apétit!
Hopefully next time you can go to Adrian Tropical's restaurant, especially the one located on the Santo Domingo Malecon and enjoy your typical Dominican food right in front of the Caribbean Sea.
As a dominican who lives in the DR near piantini and those areas. I thank you for showing that DR is more than just resorts, beaches and the colonial zone.
Fun fact from the video in the colonial zone. The colonial zone is the first european settlement in America. And it has a lot of first. Like first university, first city hall, first church and a lot other firsts
*watches the DT eating brunch* 😋 🤤 *looks down at bowl of cereal* *takes phone out of pocket and checks Uber Eats delivery policies in placing an order from Santo Domingo…to Toronto, Canada*
@@DelightfulTravellers it will be in the coming weeks on air bnb. I’m trying to make it perfect because I also come down every month or two so I want it just right before I list it. I’ll def let you guys know when it’s ready so you can check it out when you’re back in the city
I hope you fine folks get the very best out of my native hometown (left for NYC at 8 months old and I miss visiting). I hope you tried sancocho and also the salchichas with mangu! Cheers from NYC (my fiance from Calgary says hi)! 🤜🤛
Yes that what I never understand. Why some people complain about prices there. Wherever we all come from I guarantee any meat in the DR is way cheaper. No don’t say it’s the last for now.😩😩. Safe travels 👋
Hello dear Anna & Trevor, we came back from our 2 weeks trip to DR and were in Cabarete watching your 'direct' online video and saw you on the side of the road going back to our hotel ... wishing to cross your path later on Cabarete but, unfortunately not. We loved Cabarete and Puerto Plata. We also discovered the west side of Santo Domingo and it's really completely different land comparing to the Colonial part, which we really love too. Really suprised with the content of this video, please stop making us starving at what you eat 🤣this is too much 😋 We already miss DR food soooo much here.
@@DelightfulTravellers Yeah I see that you going to Mexico City now, really funny, as our oldest son is also going back to Mexico end of the month, it's his 3rd time over there but he's joining friends over there... enjoy your new adventure over there and continue to make us dream 😘
ITs not expensive for you in comparison, you are correct, however , based on what you saw when you were having brunch, seen all those luxury cars, common sense tells you that its not for everybody. Have a great trip and thank you for staying with us
Wow! 🫶 you guys made my mouth water I miss my Empanadas and the beef . You guys have to go villa Mella is called the city of the chicharrones Dont missed that place also try the streets fast food fron dominican republic you will be surprised the hotdogs we have like 3 diferent types you will love it and the chimichurry try that you will love that yummy yummy 😂
That’s what I need right now, that food look so apethasin, wish you a great and wonderful trip, come back soon, wish I could travel with you guys, but I can’t fly for more than an hour right now, do to a heart transplant, but some day hopefully.
Thank you guys for the best information from the best restaurant in Santo Domingo Have safe travels to your next adventure We already miss God be with you both ❤️🙏
Hi Trevor and Anna, the Ardmore Tea Room on Quinpool road in Halifax, I am sure you know where this is, have Eggs Benny for $10.20 including hasbrowns. Your meals look very good too. Like you videos, safe travels
Haven't been there in a long time! Great price for Benny's for sure but that's a diner compared to the restaurant in the video. That said... we'll go when we are back 🤗 - Anna
I just wanted to know where did you guys get your pricing from because the way you're adding it up is not right I'm American living here in the Dominican Republic
