It's true because we're increasingly relying on technology to do our thinking for us. Like the software Grammarly for example. There are some plot holes if you analyze the film. For example, if everyone is so stupid how can they have working cars, planes, TV's. Who could fix them, but it ruins the comedy if you analyze it too much. It's good satire and hyperbole leave it at that. 😊

There are accounts of people being accosted by security or even actual law enforcement (less in the USA; more in the EU and UK, and most in Australia) asking them 'whycome'. Many businesses have and will shut down and usher employees/customers from the establishment until the 'health, safety, & security' risk of a 'non-compliant' not wearing a mask could be resolved. So it isn't hyperbole or even much of an exaggeration to say that this, indeed, is the sort of stuff that can happen when somebody doesn't have a mask.
