They say that once you try anamorphic - it's hard to go back. Well, we paired, what is our first ever cinema lens, the @SIRUIImaging 75mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic lens with the Sony A7SIII and it did not disappoint.
Two and a half days spent with our lovely family, led to some casual shooting around Paris, France and gave us gave us more of a locals' insight to the city. We really wanted to avoid the tourist attractions and the overshot areas. We wanted to bring those little details, the character and the real charm of Paris to life. In all of its beautiful, cinematic, anamorphic glory of course.
We were travelling super light, no gimbal and not even a decent tripod, so all of this was shot handheld and manually focussed on the lens itself (no rig).
Oh and a word about the SIRUI 75mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic lens - simply stunning. The quality it delivers is outstanding, the flaring is so pretty but not overpowering, the colour rendition is epic and literally ZERO focus breathing. We can't wait to dive in more but this lens is a BANGER.
