I think the sweet, gentle old lady said it on purpose, knowing they would hear. In the hope it would shame them. It isn't the first time I have heard her say something that I consider shows an ugly mindset. The smug memory of continuing to do it...

My Grandmother told me secretly of changing the Nappy of a baby from next door, she was looking after . After the baby cried incessantly the Nappy was revealed to have been Nappy pinned to the baby’s stomach. Poor Grandma couldn’t deal with the thought of the little baby suffering Fifty years later.

Just curious, why do you feel this way? Chantal sounds exotic but Tanya is pretty ubiquitous where I'm from. Do both sound unnecessarily exotic in the UK?

Interesting that Lou Sanders says she got THIS job by winning a raffle. I assumed that's how she got ALL her gigs. I can't think how else anybody would employ her as a comedian.
