Yeah kids today don't know unsolved mysteries or even know who Robert Stack was so to fully appreciate the joke here one would have had to have been around in the 80s/90s . I was 15 in 1998 so this was hilarious to me back then but even funnier now in my 30s

Man all the legends on here and what they had them do. Ernest Borgnine deep throats a hot dog, Robert Stack doing a full bit on Coop, they had Bob Costas and Al Michaels talking about Anal probes, they had the beloved Dale Earnhardt speed around in a cab. They pulled some epic shit in this movie.
John cosgrove once said in an interview that Robert would joke in between takes about some of the cases he was about to narrate. Stack was more serious about the murders and missing people cases but thought the other paranormal stuff was bullshit. Lol
I nearly died the first time I saw this movie because of this exact scene. When I realized the employees were playing solitaire I started laughing hysterically and couldn't stop.
Lmao I never caught that till now 😂 So many little in jokes throughout this movie i feel like everytime I watch it i discover another joke or visual gag that I missed previously. And I've watched this since 1998

I TOTALLY agree! His voice is one of a kind! Funny thing I heard about Robert Stack that he himself said on Conan O’Brien ( you can probably find the interview here on RU-vid) he opted to NOT be named in the credits for the Beavis & Butthead movie and had to pay something like $550 to have that done when he CLAIMED to only have made $500 dollars for the role in the movie! If that’s true I always felt MTV did not do justice for an AMAZING actor and voice.
The person playing solitaire in the background always gets me in addition to him randomly appearing in a foggy alleyway. Whoever made this had to have loved the show. The best spoofs are labors of love.

My brain: They probably just filmed it like that, thinking they'd cut to Trey Parker in Disney World with some joke about kids, but then the studio decided to nix it so they don't get sued, but they just kept the take as is because it's kinda funny. The rest of me: Shut up, it's still funny.

I miss the old Unsolved Mysteries hosted by Robert Stack. Good show. I started watching it when I was kid. I wish youtube would let us watch this show. Back in 2009 I would watch this show on RU-vid but they were forced to take them down. I'm thinking about buying the dvd collection off the internet.

There is one scene missing, the one at the end when they are celebrating their championship, it cuts to Robert Stack and he says “Update!, We still have no fucking clue where this guy is”. 🤣😂🤣
Robert Stack's voice and presence are irreplaceable on the show. He was that good. Add the theme song and you have the perfect combination of fear and intrigue. Some of the stories I saw scared the living crap out of me.

Robert Stack did comedy in the 1930s and 1940s like 2 Deana Durbin movies he was in the 1939, 1941 and he was also in the classic 1942 comedy to be or not to be so he knows comedy timing
I remember watching unsolved mysteries every wed night back in the 80s. There weren't many shows I made it a point to watch when I was a wee lad, but this was at the top of my list. Used to scare the crap out of me. My moms friend was in an episode. Deer hunter that was in a tree, his gun fell and hit the ground and it went off and he was shot. I forget what happened.
